Actually, if you do a google search for "republicans" and "civil rights" you'll find that Republicans were actually pretty strong supporters of civil rights and many Southern Democrats (Dixiecrats) actually tried to stand in the way of much civil rights legislation.
There's also Charlton Heston. One of the few conservatives in Hollywood, he was the FIRST to march with Martin Luther KIng Jr.
Now, the Democrats have done a VERY good job of taking all the credit - but history shows otherwise.

The Democrats also are strong supporters of Affirmative Action and other racial preferences, so it MAKES SENSE for blacks to support the Democrat party. They are simply looking out for their best interests just like any other group would.

Your question about white people is meaningless because 1) with the voting record of blacks, who are you to question anyone's motives? and 2) Obama wouldn't have been elected without the white vote. Since the black vote never changes, you should be crediting white people if anything.

The fact is that in 1992 92% of the black vote went to Clinton, Kerry got 94% of the black vote in 2004, Al Gore got 91% of the vote and Barack Obama got 96% of the black vote. Whether Obama couldn't have been elected on the black vote alone isn't relevant want is relevant is that white people refused to vote for him because of his race. Case in point the state of West Virginia stated this in a questionaire and it was broadcast during interviews that they simply didn't want a black president. I suggest you look this up. It's not hard to find.

@hatfisc Have you studied US history? We went over this. Blacks vote dem now because of the shift of racist to the republican party. If you look at history blacks until 1964 voted primarily republican. This is because the democrats were the largest supporters of segregation and oppression laws. From 1964-1970 the switch was made when the south went republican in response to civil rights gains by blacks, in return black people went democrat. Understand?

I'm not sure what desired end you're looking for here but none is more evident and predictable than the black vote. Even at my annoyance these people will go on strike for anything and shut down whole industries. That being said France has some practical social programs that just work. However productivity is way down in France due to a 35 hour work week and 6 weeks paid vacation. So give or take..

While every voter may not know every issue, republican voters have to have a world view because if they did not, they have school, new, and entertainment sources feeding them left views constantly. @Jimtheprogrammer If you really want to talk education, though. Democratic voters tend to be abound in large volumes in urban areas. Just look at New York City. An overwhelmingly democratic area. Democratic voters GENERALLY have higher levels of education than Republican voters. You're bound to find Republicans in large numbers in smaller, rather isolated rural areas. Meanwhile, Democratic voters are in NYC, home of Colombia Uni, NYU, Princeton isnt far, etc. So dont argue on education.

Whereas in rural communities, things tend to be farther away, and information is not exchanged as quickly. Also, you fucking forgot Manhattan.
