i love this movie, its a bit inacurate , but i still love it! mostly because me and my friend call each other lennon and mccartney. shes lennon and im mccartney! i told "lennon" about the elevator secne (the kiss) and it kind of freak her out, so now i always go up to her and say "hey i have a seacret, elevator secne!" and she always gets this look on her face! its priceless! ilove messing with her!

Interesting. I'm a bit of a Beatles nerd and have watched a couple of other fictional movies about them; compared to some I've seen (e.g. 'Birth of the Beatles', late 70s, terrible soundtrack) it looks like Jared Harris and Aidan Quinn did a pretty fair job.
Okay, I find this movie highly unlikely, but I did get a kick out of a few of these scenes. I think they portrayed John fairly well- "Help me, I'm trapped inside this little box..." "Cheerio, Frances!" Although I doubt he'd ever be that rude to his fans- he was a nicer person than that.
Great movie! And the scene where the two of them almost went down and played on SNL was TRUE! Look it up. Though it didn't happen exactly as portrayed in the movie, the two were watching the show at John's house...just blocks away from the studio. Man, wouldn't that have been something?
its kewl to think that, but i know i read somewhere that paul watched it and he was amused by it and said that the guy playing john acted very much like john x3 a lot of beatles fans don't like this movie so eh.
but the same director that directed 'Let it be' directed this movie *shrug* so i figure he got to watch them enough to know how theyd act. but thats just my opinion.
Man, I got the whole thing wrong. I just now read that this is pure fiction. I thought they were trying to pass it off as a factual account. The Guy who did Lennon nailed him perfectly. The Paul was likable too. It would have been great if it could have gone that way, but something tells me they never spoke to each other again after a certain year.
The fact that it isadmittedly fiction puts a way different spin on it for me. Very enjoyable movie in that case.
If I remember my Beatle history, they patched up the friendship in the mid-70s and then McCartney developed a habit of dropping in on Lennon whenever he was in NYC, and eventually Lennon got annoyed and told McCartney that he was too busy looking after his kid to hang out talking about old times, so McCartney was a bit hurt and stopped doing it - but they still talked on the phone from time to time. So it's not total fiction.
oh man yes. especially at the end when pauly has his base all ready to go and he walks in seeing john on the phone. the look john gives him man. breaks my heart ever time
this is an awsome movie!!!And,apparently, back in the early 70's,McCartney really did go to John's house and John didn't let him in.The director of this movie is the same person who directed the Beatles "Let It Be" so,through his eyes, this movie is like a "What would have happened if John and Paul spent the day together?"Again, great movie!
Actually this is based on a true event. Paul and John did hang out together in 1976 at John's apartment on the night when Lorne Micheals from SNL offered the beatles $3000 to reunite. They considered doing it but they said they were too tired. Contrary to what a lot of people think Paul and John still saw each other a lot after the Beatles.
Yeah..I knew how they were offered three thousand to reunite on SNL but I never knew John and Paul actually hung out. Thanks for the info :) By the way....what's ur age and location?
Hahaha I think John's craziness is pretty well captured.

This is way too far-fetched. I believe it's simply some romantic pipe dream developed by second-rate writers. I don't buy a word of it.
