Luck is required for certain scenarios but the amber wizard was overpowered. If you take the time to level him up in some of the easy earlier scenarios after you get him, his flock of doom spell pretty much will dominate the game. When I beat this my amber wizard had over 16k experience points.
yeah, good luck and god speed to beating it. watching your video's reminded me of the first time i picked this title up. it was a dark and stormy night on the way to blockbuster to rent a game (funny as the intro is as such lol). and i saw this one on the bottom self. the cover art got me. first strategy game i really fell into (and on psx at that! lol). this game helped me learn that micromanagement wins the day and so my ownage in starcraft much later is attributed to this crude but gr8 game.
I'd like to see you finish this some day, as it really brings back memories of this great game, but on the other hand I can understand if you don't feel like it.... this game has some of the most glorious moments of "Fuck You" in gaming history. The first time I managed to win the last battle, I only had one dwarf gyrocopter with which I flew around, killing the skaven that chased it with the steam cannon. Took me like an hour to beat it. Good times.
haha, i loved that steam cannon. loved charging it through the ranks of the enemy. i hated how they had those "always retreat" missions... i remember when one night all my luck and canons were on point and i was felling orcs left and right
ah-ha, i loved that steam canon! lol. It was great charging it through weak units and crushing them. I never got the point of the "always retreat" missions, some of them were near impossible to retrieve the magic item w/o getting heavy losses, and at times it was a lame potion or something. It first dawned on me when one night i was owning the orc mission (believe it was after getting to nuln...) and the orcs never got close, and then the RETREAT! sign popped up... I was like WTF!!! lol...
man I finished the game a few times, WITHOUT cheats. It's not that hard.

If you really want to win, get the Reicksguard knights by skipping the bandit missions.

Well, recording seemed to take the magic out of it. Also the last missions seemed unfair and crazy hard.

Why'd you give up so late into the game?
