btw if you play those power chords very fast after each other and jump to different notes in between (like C C C Eb C C F C C G C C ...) you'll get from Rock to Metal.
they are catchy little tunes , and I would really like to learn them , but you played them a little fast .. I could not see what notes you where playing .. so I wanted to look them up some where .. so any help you could give me would be great !!! thanks !!!!
Sure you could invert the power chord, it would sound a little different but still sound like the same chord. Inverting means you're just using the same notes in a different order... as long as you do that, you can do what you want!
so lets say you could play C5 as "C G" (perfect 5th) or "G C" (the second one has the C on the top, perfect 4th)
Very nice teaching!! Even in advanced power chords where the left hand would perhaps play the 2nd (nineth) and seventh, this opens a whole new world to those who just play octave/bass for left hand. You are most helpful. Great video, and great teaching!

Are power chords always played with parallel 5ths? Or could you invert some of the chords?

Thanks Zesty Mike!
There are also shell voicings which use notes other than a 5th, like the the 7ths and 9ths.
