mmmm our pickers have a sign on it saying make sure wheels are off the ground, because of the pressure sensors in the hyd lines for the legs, weight shift could take load off one of the legs then most booms would stop working

Hi, ours has two, its not a crane type like yours.However, our crane operator has a 70 foot boom used for bodywood removals and he keeps his tires on the ground....just curious

With two outriggers, you generally want to keep all of the tyres on the ground if at all possible. If not, the chassis tends to flex more, and there is definately more rocking when you go overcentre or slew around to work over the front of the truck. With four outriggers, you can do whatever you want really in terms of wheels up or down, with the exception of working on a concrete surface on a slope. Keep the braking wheels grounded to avoid tabogganing. :)
