Gamestop tends to put the last date of the current year as an estimated release date for every game without an official one yet. FFXIII Versus's release date on preorder sites has been constantly changing like this for example.

Closed Beta should be starting anytime now, open beta should follow almost immediately(many hopefuls are guessing end of 2011, but it is more realistic to assume Q1 of 2012) and then release should follow, most likely Q2 or even Q3 of 2012. Of course this is all speculation based on a lot of statements made by ANet members and they could be pulling our legs, and it could release in a month.

Ya its just what they call a place holder allows customers to pre order a game even though theres no release date. and most of the time the dumbassess that work at game stop or ebgames just say were usally pretty accurate LoL when infact they are not 80% of the time.
