Why would I want to farm gil in Chapter 9 for? I hate FF13 for the main reason that farming gil is either on the adamantoise in eden or mission 24.. take your pic..

This is a solid spot to grind for a couple of hours but I seriously suggest holding off the hardcore grinding until Chapter 11+ because the CP rewards are so massive in comparison (and the cost of Crystarium nodes so much higher). It's just not prudent to grind early in the game for more than an hour really, because the bosses don't really become difficult until the final few chapters and your progress is capped so heavily early on.

dude, for future reference, that is a great way to get gil if you want to upgrade 1 weapon for each character at that stage I GUESS, but the fastest way is to just go hunt adamantortoise / adamantoises for the ignots once you go deeper into the story

@satanknight14 It's not cheating, it's farming. The difference being, that u purposely fight continuously, in order to gain stuff. The price u pay is not moving on. It's a fair trade. It's stuff u earn with ur own sweat and tears. Finding a good spot to do it, well that's just good sense...may I also remind you that, until then at least, the only way to earn gil is to sell, or find them. You don't earn gil in fights.

even better CP farm spot, right when u get to the roof or watever of that placee there are large clusters of enemies who take about a minute to kill who lie at the bottom of stairs who give like 900 cp. just walk to the top of the stairs and viola there back
@satanshappyplace666 Its a custom theme. You can make your own theme by using several programs or just put a pic on a USB drive and plug it into your 360.
I will also give a tip on upgrading. Use things such as items you get from the Creature Comforts to make your i gain 3x more exp, you need to use about 30 to 40 but that only costs like a few thousand, 99 are about 8k, after that get stuff from Lenora's garage to get A LOT of exp. Once used about 20 items and got 22k exp.
good for mostly upping for cryo, selling and upgrading weapons...well if you HAVE patience..go for it, i was bored on mothers day so i spent 2 hours doing this..back n fourth, back n fourth, back n fourth and i still haven't maxed out the cryo yet on Lighting, Hope, or Fang. Nor have I maxed out my weapons...good spot?..i'd say if its your first.

There is no reason to do this, no reason at all. One can easily get weapons to max level of the 2nd rank easily without this simply by knowing what to buy and sell and doing the missions as you reach chapter 11. This is an utter waste of time.

Really, there's no point in doing this on chap9. It is an utter waste of time.
@mgvortex66 The give me the benefit of the doubt and the following. Save before you get to the estheim residence. Then do it till chap 11 with 1h of farming there, and do it without it, then compare and judge for yourself.
@crisis23 but not many people are there yet. While I make a lot on adamantoises this video is directed for those still in chapter 9. It should go without saying since you can't even go back to the Palamecia.
Is there a trick to getting the Incentive Chips? I've capped four weapons to tier 2 now, and haven't obtained a single Incentive Chip. Perhaps just bad luck? lol Also, do you factor the time of each battle in with Lightning's tier 2 weapon, "Helter-skelter?"
@LightGoth You should get the Colloectors Catalog it will be available to buy but its like 150k or theres one in a chest. Its either in chapter 10-12 but youll get them chips real fast i can get about 99 in 4 hours

why not farm the adamantortoise/long gui? they both have a 25% chance to drop platinum ingots which sell for 150k gils, and you also get a chance to fine the trapezohedron. and the shaolong gui drops gold nuggets (60k) and dark matter.
In Taejins Tower on the 5th floor is a Statue to fight a class B monster called Mushussu, Mission 24 - A Potent Sting. I kill it in 20 seconds and 6 seconds with a back attack, 3 commando's and STR boosting Equipment because its attacks are weak. Every battle gets you 6k CP and a Moonbless seed to sell 99x = 594000. The monster spawns instantly 3 seconds away everytime you accept the mission, which means no more saving and reloading. Enjoy.
I think I might have screwed up? I upgraded Lightning's weapon and everybody elses early in the game. Does it really matter? Could I still beat the game regardless?
IMO its not really worth it to grind at this point as the chance to get incentive chips and CP gained at the end of battle is just not enough. I am currently grinding and farming CP and Gil by replaying mission 24, which is available at chapter 11. Its not the best spot in the whole game but its pretty solid and available relatively early.
@TourDu I think this spot is prime, since after the upcoming boss fight, all roles become available for all characters, and you'll want the CP available. Just my opinion.
So this is perfect for upgrading your weapons quickly because of the credit chips and incentive chips, but getting more Cp is what chapter 11 is all about though...but at the same time, if your having a hard time beating these guys in this ship, then your shit out of luck if you can beat anything in gran pulse, so my strategy would be to grind materials, and farm a decent amount of cp in every chapter. Anyways thanks for the info!
Once you get to chapter 11 you will have many better opportunities to get gil and cp, making everything you do here just about pointless. Also chapter 9 and 10 aren't all that difficult and the only weapon you should be upgrading at this point is the axis blade.

yea everyone uses this spot in chapter 9 but then later on when you get to gran pulse you should fight the two behemoths. You get killer cp if you have growth egg even better. Plus i'm having a hard time finding a spot to find items where i can sell for a lot of gil. Any help anyone?
@Dekiller5 you should do all missions up to 14 on chapter 11, you then get chocobo which digs for treasure. alot of the time you get decent gil for selling them e.g traderic tiara sells for 40,000, gold dust sells for 15,000 and gold nugget sells for 60,000
I've grinded on exp and gil before the fight with Superpope where you have to go down and defeat all the enemies. It took me longer, but it earned me more CP. :]
@NakitoKun I passed this spot up at first, and had a very hard tme beating the Superpope, until I swapped in Sazh and Vanille with Lightning. Sazh's Haste and Vanille's cures helped a lot more than Hope's cures and buffs.
FYI the item Superconductor costs the same as crankshaft but gives just under double the EXP, may be you should put in an annotation to let people know
i came accross this respawn corridor in chapter 9,but yur guide in what items to sell and buy really clarified me a lot of things about weapon updating.

Does anyone have any preference on which weapons to max for each char? Without spoilers please, for endgame strategy, which role do you want each char to have and which weapon did you choose to max out?
It's the catalyst Pervoskite to turn it to Glaive then after 51 levels (*=61) use Trapezohedron to turn it to Kain's Lance. Hope it helps. If you have any other weapon, or accessory for that matter, questions just ask away.
Every Weapon when you max out to tier 3 will be the same weapon but with different stats so basically gladius > tier 2 > omega weapon Lionheart > tier 2 > omega weapon so it just depends on what stats you want to have for each individual characters and every character will max out their role but it just depends on who you use and how you use them

I've played every FF game in existance. I just thought that games were more streamlined now. I play FF for the story, not for the grind. Why can't you just level normally as you progress? Just sayin'. It seems boring to fight the same mobs over and over. But, such is the way of JRPGs. But you know, ever wonder why a lot of games have moved away from the grind?

i farm in the same spot. But after you beat this battle in the video, keep heading down the hall and take a right. Around the corner is 3 more soliders and a pirate. The pirate stands idle and easy to get premptive strike. You will 5* him everytime and 1/3 time he drops a perfect something or other, (can't remember the name of it). But it's WAYYY better than the crankshaft. and a good way to save your money!!!
Go through the intersection onwards before the objective blip.. head huntresses offers better incentive chip rates than raiders/scavengers.... 5 star battles with head huntresses almost guarantees an incentive chip

@mgvortex66 Are you even aware of how far in hours this place is from the real endgame? No less than SIXTY.
a) there is no reason to need cash at this stage of the game. You get enough to upgrade the weapons just to the point you need them in.
b) there is no reason to need CP at this stage of the game. You'll be maxed out simply by not skipping mobs.
c) This gives such a little, insignificant amount of both CP and gil that you would be better off spending that time getting to chap 11!

Is there a trick to getting the Incentive Chips? I've capped four weapons to tier 2 now, and haven't obtained a single Incentive Chip. Perhaps just bad luck? lol Also, do you factor the time of each battle in with Lightning's tier 2 weapon, "Helter-skelter?"

@LightGoth You should get the Colloectors Catalog it will be available to buy but its like 150k or theres one in a chest. Its either in chapter 10-12 but youll get them chips real fast i can get about 99 in 4 hours

why not farm the adamantortoise/long gui? they both have a 25% chance to drop platinum ingots which sell for 150k gils, and you also get a chance to fine the trapezohedron. and the shaolong gui drops gold nuggets (60k) and dark matter.

In Taejins Tower on the 5th floor is a Statue to fight a class B monster called Mushussu, Mission 24 - A Potent Sting. I kill it in 20 seconds and 6 seconds with a back attack, 3 commando's and STR boosting Equipment because its attacks are weak. Every battle gets you 6k CP and a Moonbless seed to sell 99x = 594000. The monster spawns instantly 3 seconds away everytime you accept the mission, which means no more saving and reloading. Enjoy.

I think I might have screwed up? I upgraded Lightning's weapon and everybody elses early in the game. Does it really matter? Could I still beat the game regardless?

IMO its not really worth it to grind at this point as the chance to get incentive chips and CP gained at the end of battle is just not enough. I am currently grinding and farming CP and Gil by replaying mission 24, which is available at chapter 11. Its not the best spot in the whole game but its pretty solid and available relatively early.

@TourDu I think this spot is prime, since after the upcoming boss fight, all roles become available for all characters, and you'll want the CP available. Just my opinion.

So this is perfect for upgrading your weapons quickly because of the credit chips and incentive chips, but getting more Cp is what chapter 11 is all about though...but at the same time, if your having a hard time beating these guys in this ship, then your shit out of luck if you can beat anything in gran pulse, so my strategy would be to grind materials, and farm a decent amount of cp in every chapter. Anyways thanks for the info!

Once you get to chapter 11 you will have many better opportunities to get gil and cp, making everything you do here just about pointless. Also chapter 9 and 10 aren't all that difficult and the only weapon you should be upgrading at this point is the axis blade.

lol i did this strategy it was the most amazingly boring thing lol i got a bout 100 thousand gil and i said screw it im tired of running the damn hallway lol but its good if you have the patience necesary sorry im an american who just got into the series so im used to quick games like mass effect and stuff that dont take 15 hours to beat so i dont got patience for this but smart tactic got the major roles for my characters up to as far as they get in this chapter

yea everyone uses this spot in chapter 9 but then later on when you get to gran pulse you should fight the two behemoths. You get killer cp if you have growth egg even better. Plus i'm having a hard time finding a spot to find items where i can sell for a lot of gil. Any help anyone?

@Dekiller5 you should do all missions up to 14 on chapter 11, you then get chocobo which digs for treasure. alot of the time you get decent gil for selling them e.g traderic tiara sells for 40,000, gold dust sells for 15,000 and gold nugget sells for 60,000

I've grinded on exp and gil before the fight with Superpope where you have to go down and defeat all the enemies. It took me longer, but it earned me more CP. :]

@NakitoKun I passed this spot up at first, and had a very hard tme beating the Superpope, until I swapped in Sazh and Vanille with Lightning. Sazh's Haste and Vanille's cures helped a lot more than Hope's cures and buffs.

FYI the item Superconductor costs the same as crankshaft but gives just under double the EXP, may be you should put in an annotation to let people know

It's the catalyst Pervoskite to turn it to Glaive then after 51 levels (*=61) use Trapezohedron to turn it to Kain's Lance. Hope it helps. If you have any other weapon, or accessory for that matter, questions just ask away.

Every Weapon when you max out to tier 3 will be the same weapon but with different stats so basically gladius > tier 2 > omega weapon Lionheart > tier 2 > omega weapon so it just depends on what stats you want to have for each individual characters and every character will max out their role but it just depends on who you use and how you use them

I've played every FF game in existance. I just thought that games were more streamlined now. I play FF for the story, not for the grind. Why can't you just level normally as you progress? Just sayin'. It seems boring to fight the same mobs over and over. But, such is the way of JRPGs. But you know, ever wonder why a lot of games have moved away from the grind?

I didn't even bother upgrading weapons at this point, what I did was upgraded the Brawlers Wrist Band and Shaman's Mark.
I did two of each of these. I put 1 maxed out Shaman Mark on Lightning, 1 on Hope and both maxed out Brawler Wrist Bands on Fang.
Doing this will make the rest of chapter 9 and 10 a joke and even's you out quite nicely for chapter 11.
This strategy is in the players guide btw, for those of you who were too cheap to buy it.

i farm in the same spot. But after you beat this battle in the video, keep heading down the hall and take a right. Around the corner is 3 more soliders and a pirate. The pirate stands idle and easy to get premptive strike. You will 5* him everytime and 1/3 time he drops a perfect something or other, (can't remember the name of it). But it's WAYYY better than the crankshaft. and a good way to save your money!!!

Go through the intersection onwards before the objective blip.. head huntresses offers better incentive chip rates than raiders/scavengers.... 5 star battles with head huntresses almost guarantees an incentive chip
