  • Betty that wasn't transformers. It some type of batman movie

  • @Moesdays Yes, someone said it was "Watchmen."

    --Betty :)

  • Hey what movie is he watching?

  • @Moesdays Watchmen

  • thanks for this recipe. do you have a fruit flavored popcorn recipe and/or recipe?

  • @chae808707 I don't have a fruit-flavored popcorn recipe, but that sounds interesting! I will look for one.

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty, can i use white sugar instead?

  • @lolalolz100 Yes, white sugar works well.

    --Betty :)

  • wow i just made it for the first time and it's amazing !!! i didn't know it was so easy ! :)

  • Hi Betty

i love your channel. I was just wondering how long this popcorn will store for? I am planning on making it for Christmas, and wondered if it will last up to 2 weeks in a container? thank you!

  • @dancer015 Yes, it will be fresh for two weeks in a tightly closed container away from moisture.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty I made this for my husband today and it brought back his childhood memories (added peanuts to it), but wow this is so delicious, hhahaha he can't stop eating it, even though it hasn't even cooled yet...thank you so much! muah!

  • How long did you bake it for in the oven :)? Thanks

  • @Chole154 This recipe is made on top of the stove.

    --Betty :)

  • Awesome!!!! Thanks!!!! =D

  • @Drillogicaldrummer I hope you enjoy the recipe! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • @Swagtaccular That's great!

    --Betty :)

  • I've tried this recipe twice and the first time I did it I didn't stir it the while time but the second time I did and the caramel topping still came out gritty, is this normal? Is there any way to get it to not be gritty, but I do love this recipe so simple and it taste great.

  • @Lauren14709 It shouldn't be gritty. You may have cooked it too fast. Try a lower heat, and stir constantly for the complete boiling time. You may have to beat it a little longer for it to have the right consistency to pour over your popcorn.

    --Betty :)

  • Could you replace the butter with margerine in this recipie?

  • @BrownSkinLady22 Yes, margarine will work just as well as the butter.

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty can we try this recipe with white sugar

  • @Ramziakhan1000 I have never tried it with white sugar, so I'm reluctant to say it would be successful. Maybe someone reading this has tried white sugar and will respond. Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • @Ramziakhan1000 hi, white sugar works just as well as brown sugar =)

i always use white sugar caramel when coating popcorn. just be careful to watch the sugar as white sugar tends to burn easier if you're not careful with the watching. at least for me =) Hope this helps.

  • @inezcaroline Thanks for the answer!

    --Betty :)

  • can you make an egg-sandwich ? I have been dying to learn this recipe with a sunny side up egg on to piece of toast covered in butter! Please reply. thanks betty!

  • @amayiaaluvv101 I will consider that. I've done an egg McMuffin, also "bird in the nest," as well as egg salad sandwich.

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • @Swagtaccular You can get it at Amazon online, or just do a google search for lots of places.

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • Hi great video:) what is baking soda in english is it baking powder or bicarbanote of soda :)]

  • Hi great video:) what is baking soda in english is it baking powder or bicarbanote of soda

  • @arsenalpro145 its baking powder, got mine in tesco :D

  • @arsenalpro145 It is bicarbonate of soda.

    --Betty :)

  • is that necessary to add in baking soda?

  • @shier93 Yes, in this recipe it is. The baking soda has a chemical reaction with the other ingredients that is necessary for the coating to set up like it should.

    --Betty :)

  • would white sugar work?

  • @10Mboy It might work, but I don't think the results will be as good.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Okay, I Tried it, It was still Great! Thanks Betty! :)

  • @10Mboy That's great! Thanks for the feedback!

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • thanks alot Betty, Ive been looking for this recipe because i love eating salty popcorn mixed with the caramel ones :D it just makes me drool all over lol. Thank you so much, greetings and warm wished from Dubai ;).

  • i love batman

  • gotta love having disposable income and a deep love for movies

  • i think this really helps with life. to be honest

  • i spot a time warner copyright infringment

  • oh ok, i thought the baking powder was to keep it longer.

i made carmel popcorn before but i never use baking powder and i did not bake it either. I just melt the sugar (brown) until it gets sticky and pour it on the popcorn and after a while it gets hard.

  • @silversunflower2525 The baking powder has a chemical reaction with the other ingredients and totally changes the consistency of the mix.

    --Betty :)

  • mmm! I just made this and it tastess fantastic!!

    thanks for the recipe!:D

  • @SanamKharazi Thanks for the great feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • Betty another great recipe, always wanted a good recipe for caramel pop corn!

  • Looks great !!!! im going to make it !

  • as soon as you add the baking soda stir really quick and add it to the popcorn tossing it with two spatulas covered with non stick cooking spray the key to making a good caramel corn is to work fast dont wait around like she does well i hope i helped

  • Hi Betty! I'm gonna try your recipe, It looks pretty simple! Thanx for sharing.

  • @dianaruiphoto I hope you enjoyed the popcorn!

    --Betty :)

  • ummm i did it but the sugar didnt seem to disolve so now i have soft verry sugary pop corn and idea? thnk you

  • I think you needed to cook the topping longer; it will never harden if undercooked.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen lol thank that must be it

  • how i hope i have some thing like that ._. =O i live in singapore thats why lol =//

  • I hope you are able to try this recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • @derekbegins Hey, I'm from s'pore too! :DD

btw, you can get microwaveable popcorn from cold storage. and the rest of the ingredients can be gotten from any random supermarket :D

  • @denouements Thanks for this info!

    --Betty :)

  • Oh wow this looks amazing!!!

  • It is amazingly good! I hope you try it! Thanks for your wonderful comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Thank you for answering Betty!

    I watch your vids religiously.

I think I was comparing it to the caramel popcorn I get at the movies.Haha.

  • You are welcome! Thanks for watching my videos! I hope you are finding some things that you like!

    --Betty :)

  • Hey Betty. I made this twice. First time I didn't do it well. Second time was an improvement. I love the recipe because it's simple and tasty but I keep having the same issue. It looks like caramel when I pour it on the popcorn but then when it cools, I start tasting the sugar granules again. I am afraid Im going to burn the caramel when cooking it so Im careful. I thought I did it right today. It looked exactly like caramel. Any advice?

  • The only thing I can think of is that you're expecting a different consistency of caramel than this recipe provides. This caramel is a bit sugary, and is appropriate for covering nuts or popcorn, but it is not meant to be eaten as caramel candy. Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • easiest one and greatest onee too =D

  • Thanks so much for your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)

  • It looks great to add roasted peanuts! Thanks for your great videos! I enjoy them a lot:)

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I'm gald you enjoy the videos!

    --Betty :)

(well, if you have grand kids .... if not my bad)

  • I have 1 grandson! Thanks for the compliment! I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, that was the best, no-nonsense recipe for caramel corn that I've seen. Thank you so much.

  • Thanks for your compliment on my recipe! I hope you enjoy it!

    --Betty :)

  • thnx for helping me i learned from you meny wtf recipe thnx again :D

  • I hope my recipes are helping you learn to cook!

    --Betty :)

  • i have some problems the carmel terns to shoger again why?

  • The only thing I can think of is that it has boiled too long or at too high a heat, or that too much time passed before putting on the popcorn. It should come out better than that!

    --Betty :)

  • DELICIOUS

  • Thanks! I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks really good.

And I really envy you that you have a popcorn popper. :P

  • Thanks! We have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of the popcorn popper! It's fun even with regular popcorn! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • i have one they are better for you than microwave popcorn and pretty cheap go to walmart and you can get a good one for a reasonable price hope this helped ~nick

  • Thanks, Nic--I haven't checked the price. We got ours with some movie theater equipment, but I think Walmart would have a better deal!

    --Betty :)

  • Nice snack. :) Perfect for this month too since October is National Caramel month. :)

    --Betty :)

  • So I made this tonight when I was watching a movie and the caramel was DELICIOUS. My grandmother is such a picky and healthy eater and even she couldn't stop nibbling on them haha.

  • That's true! I load up my plate for the camera, and then hand it directly to Rick. I just eat very small portions. Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • That ,may well be a previously undiscovered, zombie, weak point ;)

  • True, but maybe I have super-human powers myself!

    --Betty :)

  • Watchmen! Great film!

  • Truly my husband was just sitting down to watch that, and he hasn't gotten a chance to watch it yet! We'll try it this weekend! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • Hehe, well have fun! Sorry I forgot to originally say it, but that's a great recipe.

  • Thanks,

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty, I just wondered what you would do if zombies visited your house?

Like in the movie...well you know

  • If zombies visited my house, I would probably say, "Hi! I'm Betty! Welcome to bettyskitchen!"

    --Betty :)

  • I love your theatre room ;)

  • Thanks--It's a nice getaway!

    --Betty :)

  • I do like popcorn once in a while so its always nice to have some new recipes for toppings. The caramel looks delicious! Thanks for sharing Betty =)

  • You are very welcome! I hope you enjoy the topping!

    --Betty :)

  • wow Betty, I used to work for the company that manufactures your popcorn machine. Depending on what year you bought it, I just might have made it! Your popcorn looks great!

  • Hi Matt!

How interesting! Maybe that's why the popcorn always turns out great! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Oh! Naughty, Naughty but oh SOOO DELICOUS!! Is this like the Butterkist Popcorn?

    Hugs to you both x

  • I will have some not-so-naughty popcorn up next! I'm not familiar with Butterkist Popcorn, but, by the name, it probably is similar! Thanks for commenting, Linda!

    --Betty :)

  • I make this today! It's so good. And I finish it before it cool,Too bad but just cant wait.

  • Thanks for the wonderful feedback! We always have some of ours before it is cool, too! It tastes even better than it looks!!!

    --Betty :)

  • your house is beautiful and this recipe looks great!

  • Thanks, and thanks again!

    --Betty :)

  • Luv the Video :-D .. We also have a popcorn machine..i makes a really item for the family room

  • Popcorn machines are fun to have! And popcorn can be a healthy treat! You can even use some of my toppings and just put them on sparingly, and its healthier than a typical dessert! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • I think these will be great for Fall! You have the coolest recipes. I love your theatre room. :)

  • Thanks on all accounts! That is a lovely compliment! I appreciate your viewing and commenting!

    --betty :)

  • You said you could store it for a bit, would you say about a week? I was thinking this would probably make a nice gift for people I don't normally give gifts to for the holiday season coming up. :]

  • I think that if you store it tightly covered for a week that it will be as fresh as when you made it. It certainly would make a nice gift that is not quickly perishable! Thanks for mentioning the gift idea!

    --Betty :)

  • Mmmm looks yummy Betty! Will try it. Is your kitchen upstairs? Thats unusual to me! Pxx

  • Their theater room is in the basement, to go upstairs where the kitchen is, means the kitchen is on the main floor. Unless that is still unusual for you and you already understood what she meant. :p

On a side note, all of your recipe's look fantastic, Betty! I am a fan. :]

  • Thanks for providing a correct answer, and thanks for your compliment!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for that. No i can kind of work out that the kitchen must be upstairs, but was just checking because its quite strange for me to think of it like that because here in England we dont really have rooms in basements, theyare usually kept for storage. This is clearly an American thing? I dont know. Anyway I love American houses, they always look so big and spacious. I especially like the look of Betty's house, her kitchen is lovely! :0).

  • Thanks so much--I'm sure I will be showing more of my house later. It is much easier to afford a house with a lot of rooms when you live in a state like Kentucky. The cost of living is very low here, compared to other states. Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Sakurakura answered correctly. Kitchen is on main floor, so we go downstairs to the basement theater to watch movies. Thanks for your compliment!

    --Betty :)

  • You can make lots of popcorn with that machine. Do you make fancy popcorn for people for Christmas presents?

  • I haven't done that, but that is an excellent idea! People seem to appreciate gifts that you put some time and work into, rather than just buy it! Thanks for mentioning it!

    --Betty :)

  • Tasty. :-)

  • I'm glad you like the looks of it! More popcorn tomorrow--for dieters. You may not be interested in that one! Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • OH that looks soo good! thank you Betty for making me hungry LOL. BTW I used to sell those popcorn makers you have when I worked at Sams Club

  • How much did they cost at Sam's club?

  • It was a long time ago I can't remember since that was one of a whole lot of stuff I sold.

  • I can't remember how much ours cost, either, but it wasn't terribly expensive...

    --Betty :)

  • ya and that the thing about popcorn makers they are not pricey and they are much better then the microwave stuff you can get

  • We got our popcorn maker on the internet from a complany that sell theater supplies, like reclinging chairs with cup holders, etc.

    --Betty :)

  • I think you'll like the caramel-coated popcorn! It's very good!!!

    --Betty :)

  • Yummy!! I love carmal corn.

  • I think most people do, and it seems like the right time of the year for it! Thanks for the comment, Dave!

    --Betty :)

  • that looks delicious !!!

  • Thanks for your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Perfect for Halloween!!! :)

    Yummy....

  • I have some other things coming up for Halloween later, too! Thanks for the comment!

    --Betty :)
