Shiny Torchic - My longest hunt so far ENDED!!!

Question: Ive been hunting for a torchic on ruby for a while and ive been using my gb advance sp, i also have a ds lite. now are my chances better on the ds or on the sp???

My first shiny was a Shellos(E), but i started with Piplup so i left it in the box the whole game, i was actually devo that i got it shiny, seeing as it doesnt differ much to the regular sprite.

I found a shiny golbat in emerald in victory road. In soulsilver I found a shiny rattata that fled in the safari zone.I transferred my golbat to Diamond, its now a shiny crobat. I restarted my emerald file, and I found a shiny ditto, which I found 2 days ago. I couldn't catch it cause it changed into my latios. I critical hit it by accident. Btw, the day after the shiny rattata, my pupitar got pokerus. Since it got pokerus, I had to get a new larvitar. The new larvitar I got had 31 iv in attack.

You Soft Reset the game by pressing Start, Select, L and R at the same time.

A shiny pokemon has a different color than the normal version of a pokemon.

For example: Nidoking is purple, but Shiny Nidoking is light blue.

The chance of finding a shiny is 1/8192 (0,012%) for every encounter you do, that's why people hunt them.

Did you try 8,192 times?

8192 resets/encounters doesn't guarantee a shiny encounter. This Torchic took me over 16000 resets. The chance is 1/8192 for every encounter you do, so you may get one before 8192 encounters, or maybe even after 10,000.

I know pokemon is seen as a childish game the most, but I see shinies as a collection, just like someone's collecting rocks or seals etc.

Anyways, you need to have a lot of patience, as they're very rare to appear. That's actually all there is. Just keep battling the pokemon over and over again untill you see a shiny one.

There's no special way for doing it.

You don't restart the game, you use the same save file. Just save in front of Birch's bag and keep SRing and taking the starter over and over again. And lol, I've been playing since I was 9, I'm 18 now o.o

Sapphire: Poochyena 2x

Ruby: Poochyena 1x

Fire Red: Rattata (in a new game, no balls yet), Abra (game crashed while saving), Nidorino (hunted in Safari Zone, it ran away).

So yeah, I'm not always lucky xD

And that's right, I got 3 Shiny Abra in total, I lost one due to a deleted save file, one because of a game crash, and I still have an Alakazam =)
