I agree, marijuana legalization alone would significantly decrease the amount of influence that the cartels have over the mexican government. These cartels are infiltrating the highest levels of their government and undermining the democratic system. The legalization of other hard drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc) would have a damaging effect on society. It is time for us to realize that regulating and taxing marijuana would take money from dangerous cartels and transform that into government revenue

many of the guns are fully automatic weapons, again almost non-existant at gun shows. I'm sure most of the guns come from Mexican military via their more than a little currupt personel.
