  • a las 2 personas que no le gusto este video no vieron la pelicula (:

  • This song sounds a bit like Radiohead's National Anthem. I mean the bass line.

  • @goden You mean Radiohead sounds a bit like this. Not the other way round.

  • @Linear500 Yeah. Exactly.

  • AGreed MOLOKPLUS1980 Sam Riley Genius actor!>! Ian Curtis iconic legendary and such an influence on all of us :) .. peace! JOYDIVISION:) YES!

  • This version is to good that only 2 people pressed the disklike button but we all know that they slipped and were like fuck i didnt mean to press that ;)

  • marvelous version

    fabulous movie

    & great acting really,

ian doesn't have an easy voice to just cover up

don't think many people can sing the way this actor pulls it off

  • that ride - hi hat swap is pure extasy!!!

  • He does it as good as the Ian Curtis himself

  • Amazing-

  • Were can I find tabs for that main guitar riff that isnt featured on version of unknown pleasures I have ?

  • @D0oD0oBrain

It is really easy (I will post the basic, timing is up to you)

first notes in each part are palm muted and lifted slowly

first part: on A string 7 (listen to the song for the amount) slide to 5, then on D string 5 slide to 7 x2

second part: on A string 7 slide to 5 then to 4 and end on 2 (again listen to the song for timing

third part: on A string 7 slide to 5

    thats it

  • sam riley's group has played ian curtis ' songs marvellousely ...... almost better than JD ! love it ..... and sam riley looks like Ian so much, just unbelievable .

  • @kimrealturkiye Ian's songs? don't you mean joy division's?

  • Sam Riley is genius at this movie but he's voice is not dead as ian had

  • @Egjelberta what?

  • @TheOldEchoes the voice of ian its smells like the death

  • @Egjelberta fuckwit.

  • Damn, they skipped my favorite part from the original..

"Oh, I dont know what made me,

    What gave me the right,

    To mess with your values

    and change wrong to right."

  • What am I gonna do when I can't hear this beautiful music anymore?

  • i absolutley love that guitar bit im sure you know what bit i mean

  • He sounds so different. Did they lower his pitch on the albums?

  • this version blows the original out of the water...so sultry

  • You know he never even mimed the song. He sounds just like ian curtis

  • Comment removed

  • This really almost touches your soul. Ian's words are probably the most relaxing, and striking I have ever seen in my life. I'm astonished on how someone so normal can make expression in a way I've never seen before.

  • @Mouse464 I thought that was love will tear us apart

  • Briliant performance but he (sam riley) sounds more like Jim Morrison than Ian Curtis

  • @GabrielsNob it's exactly what i think, his voice it's like jim morrison

  • @reyl4g4rto

Yes it remind me of "riders on the storm" by the doors a bit.

  • i cry

  • What's the joy division song in Control when Ian puts on his jacket, lights up a fag then when he walks by it says "Hate" or something like that on the back of his jacket?

  • @Mouse464

That would be "No love Lost"

  • @Mouse464 i think it's interzone

  • LOVE THAT GUITAR BIT MAN THAT HITS THE SPOT

  • this is one of them few songs that can go on forever. just keep adding more verses. endless, timeless!

  • great song, amazing lyrics !

  • at 0:56 what is "barney" doing?

  • @cubanzombie Sustaining the note

  • @Exeron91 thank you.

  • @cubanzombie At least that´s what happens when I try it :P

  • esa intensidad simplemente me mata!!!!!!!!!

  • I must admit I like their version better than JD's.

This is the song from the biopic that got me .

Thank you so much for the link.

  • @bmarrero same here, gave me the spooks

  • YOU RULE FOR PUTTING THE LINK AND THIS VID!! MEGA LIKE!

  • This was the actual actors preforming it, not a Joy Division track playing over it...

  • Thanks for the downloadable file. God knows why they didn't put these on the soundtrack CD.

  • Woww, 30 years ago today.

Death of an utter genius and tortured soul.

    Rest in peace.

  • 30 yrs Tomorrow since Ian Died!

  • I saw Joy Divison on a One Hit Wonder CD the other day.

What a load of shit, if only people had actually listened to songs like this, then they would realise what an incredible band they are.

  • @onthewalkoffame Yeah that's a load of shit. Joy Division doesn't belong on a made for television commercial cd like that. Some people just want to make money off stupid shit like lame ass cds nobody wants to listen to. These people are twats.

  • GREAT cover!! a little better than the studio version of JD

  • pure beauty...

  • better than the original??

  • I MISS IAN EVERY DAY

  • @JAYFUSE what? as if you knew him.

  • voz da alma ,belo e agonizante. musica para poucos..............

  • It's been over a week now. My last fatal hour just won't stop!

  • My fatal hour arrived about and hour ago.

  • He enjoyed life, I don't care what anybody says. I feel the same in these last fateful hours.

  • candidate - супертрэк, ад яго аж мурашкi па скуры

  • It's creeping up slowly, that last fatal hours...

this, I Remember Nothing, and The Eternal shjow their ability to write really slow, weird, awesome songs.

  • awesome bass line.

  • he just need a friend :(

  • this performance is soooo good

  • There's an awesome live version of this on Unknown Pleasures (Collectors Edition) on itunes.

  • also on the Live at the Factory, Hulme bootleg

  • truth! i love all the versions of this song (along with everything JD ever did pretty much), but the live version from the UP Collector's Edition is probably the definitive version to me.

  • YES!!! that whole album is immense but this song on it....woah!!!

  • I love this song, probably my second favorite by Joy Division behind Disorder. The bassline is so menacing yet hypnotizing, I can't listen to it just once.

  • My favorite JD song. I often wonder when listening to Ian-if under the sadness and despair, if he will ever know how much of his life's work has affected so many of us.

  • it's because he put all his Heart & Soul.

  • sadly, the live version is not included in the soundtrack of the film. sounds better. sounds raw and stripped only to its basic emotion.

  • totally agreed mann

  • This one sounds better than the original studio Joy Division album as well. The mixing just really takes away a lot from that album, I remember one of members making a similar comment on how they weren't exactly happy with it because of this. The bass really drives this song.

  • yes, the live version is better than the studio, one of my favorites songs of JD

  • i like the bass better in this version.

    but yeah, joy division rules.

  • I love Joy division and I love this version of the film.

I wish they could made an excelent version of Disorder too

  • IAN!

  • Kinda reminds me of Johnny Cash, I don't know why.

  • good song

  • Ian curtis ... performance ... excelents

  • I have to actually say I prefer this too the studio version, they did an awesome job

  • Same. I feel sort of bad about it too but this is great!

  • por favorr

este tema es el puto infierno!!!!!

  • you upload this the same day ian died u.u

he is one of the people i admire

  • Perfect !!!!!

  • absolute fav song

  • Use DVDVideoSoft for download. Nice and easy :)

  • It's impressive that the actors learned to play these songs well enough to just perform in the film. This version is close to the JD live version (e.g., the great guitar riff at 0:46), not the stuido version.

  • Damn, i love this song...

  • omg..... I just so love this song, shame its not long enough..... man i love this track

  • the guitar part that comes in on 0:46 is what makes this song

    at least this version

  • Candidate from Unknown Pleasures, Disorder is the LP's first track

  • I like the drum solo for the next song at the end of this vid. Anyone know what song it is?

  • Disorder

  • @vaughanography best fukn song ever written

  • the name is DISORDER

  • nooo!! YOU DUMB.

BLIND, LOOK GOOD FOR THE NEXT.

I'm answering the question he did down, you piece of animal...

DISORDER is the song that begins at the end..

  • @iamaboltonfan1984 I'm pretty sure it's disorder.

  • @iamaboltonfan1984

    disorder joy division

  • @iamaboltonfan1984 ...uhm..haha that isn't a drum solo xD. as a drummer, that is just a beat and then a fill, the song is disorder so after that small fill the bass line comes in. Just an opening to a song, notta drum solo

  • how can i download this version? amazing

  • Look in the description

  • Yes, i would also like to know how to download/buy this song. It is brilliant. I do have to agree, I like it slightly better than the original. So many JD songs are better live, where there is a bit more emotion in them...

  • Ah...I see now...(in the info of this file at the top-right of the page for those who hadn't seen it yet).

    Thanks so much

  • Comment removed

  • I prefer Ian Curtis' vocals, but yeah, that they were able to come up with versions that did justice to the original songs is pretty incredible.

  • this has become my favorite JD song... altho this version is slightly faster.. and the bass is different.. i think it may be slightly better then the original, they're both amazing.

this performance reminds me of seeing interpol live.

  • i like this version better than the original too. they did an amazing job.

  • Yeah man, totally agree. Seeing Interpol live has never left me. It's haunting yet so passionate and beautiful. Long live post-punk and Ian

  • yea u knoe jd songs are always played faster

  • I'd not heard Joy Division before seeing this film. As soon as I heard this song I knew I'd be a fan, and promptly bought both albums. Fucking excellent.

  • This is actually my favourite Joy Division song. Great live version too.

  • Thanks for the zip file!

  • It's just second nature,

    It's what we've been shown,

    We're living by your rules,

    That's all that we know.

  • I tried to get to you,

I tried to get to you,

I tried to get to you.

I tried to get to you.

  • I campaigned for nothing,

    I worked hard for this,

I tried to get to you,

    You treat me like this.

  • Please keep your distance,

    The trail leads to here,

    There's blood on your fingers,

    Brought on by fear.

  • Oh, I don't know what made me,

    What gave me the right,

    To mess with your values,

    And change wrong to right.

  • Corrupted from memory,

    No longer the power,

    It's creeping up slowly,

    The last fatal hour.

  • Brilliant.

  • Have you seen Control yet? it is a brilliant film, have you read touching from a distance yet? that is written by Ian Curtis' widow Debbie it is a briiliant book.

  • Yes, and I absolutely LOVED it (I'm also a huge Depeche Mode fan and Anton did many of their videos, being also in large part responsible for their 'look'); the cast was fantastic, especially Sam Riley and Samantha Morton. But peaking of Debbie, no, haven't yet read TFAD... will get to it soon, I hope! You?

  • Yes I have already got TFAD and read it and I thought it was a brilliant read, but I would like to read Torn Apart which is a biography about Ian Curtis that looks interesting, BTW I like Depeche mode myself and some of the videos they have made.

  • Forced by the pressure

    the territories marked

    No longer the pleasure

Oh, I've since lost the heart.
