  • Hi Dr. Oscar,

Long story - no room for details here - but I am having issues with my rt scapular area and now my rt shoulder (as a result of doing strengthening exercises for my rt shoulder before stabilizing the scapula). I have partial winging of the rt scapula. When I do the scapular stabilization should I do them bilaterally - or just work on stabilizing the rt side first? My concern is the movement of the rt scapula when having the left arm on the wall (hope that makes sense). Thanks

  • Hello Dr Osar, I have now watched all your videos for shoulder stabilization and I want to say THANK YOU, I am being followed by one of the best PTs in Montreal and she got me doing other serratus/subscapularis exercises that do work but this one is working much better!

    Again Thank you,

    Alex

  • @abelanger89 Thanks so much for watching our videos. Glad you found the information useful. Take care and thanks for reaching out.

  • amen!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont know if you remember. I was diagnosed with subacromial bursitis and with impingement as well, these exercises have been helping me sooo much, and I can even feel my serratus activating a lot more when I do do shoulder workouts ect. and my pain is going down. now I have that rear control. Thanks so much Dr

  • I have to say that what you're saying is setting a lot of bells ringing in my head like, Hey, this Gentleman makes sense. So I'm subscribed. Now I'll start complaining. 1. The sound quality is Pret-ty bad, i.e. annoying echo and unclear and the black , baggy shirt isn't helping to see what's going on because black is um...black. Thanks I can see you know and I want to learn but please, do something. gene

  • Why can't a concentric contraction increase stability? There are alot of injuries that result from a lack of concentric strength. Also if you "set" the scapular, and return the arms back to the starting position with control the contraction has an eccentric component. These exercises are designed for control of the scapular not forceful retraction of the shoudler blade towards the spine.

  • some very good points I've never considered before. Will be giving it a try.
