Here's what happened to me : i shut down my laptop, closed the lid, and put it on a table in it's bag. the zipper was open. two hours later, i open the bag, the laptop (a netbook actually) didn't shut down, the bag was warm, and i now have a yellow spot on my lcd. yeah, it is side ventilated, but as long as it heats up the air in the bag, and draws in the same hot air, your bag becomes baisicly an oven. Laptops are bulit for open spaces, not bags.

@ionsunteu the cpu gets sufficient cooling, but the display has NO cooling, it's designed to work at room temperature, and even if it's turned off it'l get fucked. and there are no display temperature sensors to kill the computer if it overheats. there's a reason it says in the laptop handbook not to keep it running in a bag!

@deadwolf090 The computer NEVER does nothing. Even when it is not working on your games or other things, there are still processes going and the fan is on all the time. The only time when the fan stops are sleep mode & shut down. With that in mind, there is a constant risk, that you will fry the computer, so this is one tricky trick.

Still, it won't fry instantly. It takes a few hours for an ordinary laptop to over heat, so this is a nice hack for short "films" only.
