the most ridiculous bit was the newsreader saying Kingsnorth was planned to be TURNED INTO a coal-fired powerstation.. what is it powered by now then? I think any protestor could have put her straight on that one, even if they didn't know the energy usage figures.

Power stations don't generate at 230V, 50Hz either, doesn't that ba'heid of a reporter know that - probably wasn't on his script?

Why doesn't that smart arse reporter go and ask Gordon Brown, Alistair Darling or David Cameron how much a loaf of bread costs?

What a pity that 'Simon' didn't go to the government Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform that issues the power station permits and ask the same questions. Think you'd find that climate campers would come out rather well.

If the Today programme asked BERR minister Malcolm Wickes the same questions, he would have simply walked out of the studio, whereas the climate campers politely answered the questions as best as they could.

I thought that the report was pretty good actually. The protesters would do better to have done some basic research TBH. Having said that, a bit of ignorance of numbers does not mean that building a new coal powered station is the answer.
