La siembra era una ocasion de fiesta. En Puno los ayllus estaban funcionando aun cuando yo era nina. Agradesco el haber podido estar en algunas siembras. Lastima que no se respete ni aprecie la cultura nativa, los mestizos con nuestro pensamiento europeo pensamos que mejoramos con innovaciones novedosas.

Veo que es un Baile Homenaje a la PACHAMAMA.

Simbolizan el acto de la SIEMBRA y trabajo de la TIERRA. Los Hombres llevan su instrumento de Labranza (¿cómo le llaman en Quechua?)

Instrumentación precolombina (no hay cuerdas). Quenas, Tamboras y Fotutos (nombre CHIBCHA Andino para los Caracoles que CONVOCAN).

Más autóctono... ¡Imposible!.

Sara Hanque dance is for planting corn, Sara is the corn mother  sister of the Pachamama. The men carry the Chakietacklia traditional Andean digging tool. the large conch Shell played as a horn is called Puputo

Great dance!! really does wear you out though as you need a lot of energy to perform something as vivid and beautiful!!

for filming we had them do the dance 3 times, could be called extreem dance at this high over 2.5 miles above sea level. all had large helpings of roast lamb after preforming

Es un privilegio ver algo tan autoctono!! QUE BELLEZA!! y la suerte y bendicion q' poseemos de ver q' aun despues de tantos siglos nuestras costumbres sigan vivas!! Peru unico en el mundo con su diversidad de costumbres, historia y tradiciones! No tiene comparasion! No cambien nada! no se modernicen! mantengan lo que nos perteneces, es lo unico q' no nos pudieron quitar!! Estos bailes ceremoniales son legacia de nuestros antepasados! VIVA NUESTRO PERU!!

I commisioned this dance, corrigrafed by Profe Richard,, and the dancers preform at different folkloric dance compititions, they have won many prizes.

, all are very modern people with e mail n cellphones, fireman, taxi driver, cooks, students of computers, that put on the rented tradational costumes to dance in. now there is a new hotel on this pampa. how bout that for Progress.

I believe this is the place where a huge hotel by an international company is being constructed. It's a shame how the big tourism is destroying the natural and cultural beauty of Peru.

Yes.It`s a ceremony on behalf of Mother nature (pacha mama). All peruvian Andean farmers still expressing their thanks whenever they going to star to work.Such ceremonies are often to see at the famous terraces in Yucay-Cusco. Causachun Yucay llacta.
