It's so great to see a veteran like him literally flying free and doing so much work and no worry about the veneer of show biz that even Jazz is hyped with these days. I just saw him in a concert a few KM's away. It was master-class lesson!
Apart form being a great musician he is admirable for his humanity and lack of presumptiousness. I have been to several of his concerts (last time with Enrico Rava) and have always left deeply touched. He never takes centre stage, adapts and makes the best of the given situation.
