another cheap way to pimp your car, get some cardboard and make a spoiler, then in woodshop class make a hood scoop and get some bathroom sealent to hold it in place. to chrome the spoiler simply wrap it in tin foil, one disclaimer tho, at highspeeds the spoiler tends to get ripped off the back of the car.
trust me my car will be fine, gm is keeping pontiac as a specialty division and the solstice and g8 are safe...other pontiac models will be axed though, torrent, vibe, g5, etc...so i'm all gravy stayles

90 million pushrod small-block V8s says GM does not give up on performance entirely. They will still compete in the factory-backed Corvette Racing program. New tech (including green alternatives) still need vicious 12- and 24- hour high endurance testing and it needs competition to really put those green components to a severe test for durability.
Its a bit sad to hear about the whole GM thing, but truth be told its partly their fault for making cars that were so poorly built (most of them, not all of them). The rest of the world wouldnt buy a GM... hence, economic problems
Hopefully they'll be able to turnaround in time and deliver their true potential.

Actually, I think what they mean is the origin of the cars they modify. German tuners can be anyone who tune BMW's, M-B's, Audis, etc.

True, Renntech is based in Florida, but it was founded by Hartmut Fehyl, who's German and used to work at AMG. Plus, this G-Wagen is based on the CDI, which is only sold in Europe and is debuting in Geneva. Ok, I'm just making excuses for DD's misspeak.

GM Kills their Performance Division, the only good part of GM
Just as they got good reviews like the CObalt SS from Car and Driver that ranks with the Mazdaspeed3 and GTI
and you can even get a high-performance wagon (HHR SS is mechanically identical to the Cobalt SS< so it's basically a Cobalt SS wagon). I love high-performance wagons, even if the HHR's windows are a bit small

dude the cobalt ss and hhr suck... horribly. gm only makes 2 good cars now (and when i say good, i mean the whole world thinks they're good, not just alabama). they are the corvette zr1 and the cadillac cts-v. and they're gone. the best part about being american... gone. i fucking hate gm...

Actually, Car and Driver gave the Cobalt SS very good reviews.
Derek D's previous car was a Cobalt LTZ that he had no problems with.
And yeah, I hate GM too!

GM isn't getting rid of pontiac, they are pretty much making it a specialty division, they are still going to produce cars such as the solstice and g8 but get rid of cars like the torrent, vibe, g5, etc...so i'm all gravy

The world buys different cars than the US. Their fuel is more expensive. We've already established GM can't make an economy car better than Japan, so what's wrong with them sticking to something they can do and build balls-to-the-wall V8's.

The Novas built by Toyota can still be seen on the roads today. Can't say the same for the US version unless it's been redone by some mullet-brain Joe Dirt wannabe.

You can't possibly believe the fifth-gen 80's Nova was better than the first thru third gen. The Nova was a muscle car, it was Corvette engined and lightweight-- it was bomb. The only problem it had was rust, which wasn't much worse than the 90's Hondas were. The piece of shit corolla based 80s one was just as bad as a corolla-- an ugly underpowered shitbox with no appeal whatsoever. The Vega was a nice car, too, better than anything the japs had to offer at the time. "1971 car of the year".

So you mean all Novas weren't as good as Toyotas except the 80's one, which was a Toyota. Using the transitive property would tell me you mean the 80s Novas were the only good ones, meaning they're better than the earlier generation Novas. So how was my interpretation "inaccurate"?

Well seeing the best selling vehicle is the Ford F-series, they do know how to build cars. And selling a lot doesn't make it good. It's cheapness makes it sell a lot, not it's performance, not it's looks, not it's handling, it's affordablity is what makes it sell. And the Vega was Motor Trends Car of the Year in 70-71.

The reason why Toyotas now SUCK is because they're absolutely no fun whatsoever. The fun in Toyota completely died and went to hell with the SW20 MR2 and Supra. They are no longer quick, sporty, fun to drive, or capable of anything out of the ordinary. Toyota has no idea what the word "performance" means anymore.

toyota reliability, subaru boxer 4 with direct injection (oh my!), rwd, lsd (hopefull). it all sounds great to me. i thought the genesis coupe was going to be the inexpensive rwd tuner car to beat, but it looks like toyota and subaru are gonna put up a fight. i'm super excited. :) competition creates more and better options for consumers.

90 million pushrod small-block V8s says GM does not give up on performance entirely. They will still compete in the factory-backed Corvette Racing program. New tech (including green alternatives) still need vicious 12- and 24- hour high endurance testing and it needs competition to really put those green components to a severe test for durability.

Its a bit sad to hear about the whole GM thing, but truth be told its partly their fault for making cars that were so poorly built (most of them, not all of them). The rest of the world wouldnt buy a GM... hence, economic problems
Hopefully they'll be able to turnaround in time and deliver their true potential.
