I believe the car in your video features the 2.5L 5 cylinder Volvo engine as found in the European Focus RS. It does make sense though, given that the Mondeo is based on the Focus and the Falcon is based on the Mondeo.

Mate, gotta say I find that there is a little turbo lag, but Ive only driven the zf auto, which I prefer as you get that nice popping sound on upshifts as the engine momentarily shuts three cylinders down, still heck of a car though eh :-)
@Jimsa84 It may be a little trivial here but one think I do not like about the F6 is the fact that the from the front, its in your face, just like the Typhoon, but from the rear, the average person could easily mistaken it for a Xr6, its not in your face at the rear unlike the Typhoon with the big wing etc, like I said, trivial, but a F6 should stand out more in my opinion, and I prefer the interior of the Typhoon over the F6

@SOT03Y The steering, the dash, the electronic speedo, the steering wheel, the rear door changes, the seating position, the exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, forged pistons, longer sump, different oil pump gears... The list goes on! They're much more efficient at making good power and take heaps of boost and timing. I'll have to spend 1/2 as much to get it up to the same power level as my old one which is awesome

All the power is up top which I hate but I'd just stepped out of my agressively tuned old F6 with ~360rwkw and was thinking this thing was gonna be a slug but it was pretty quick for stock. I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago but I bought the ZF auto. There is a bit of lag there but there's no bottom end power, it's all up top which is boring... Can't wait to tune it and bring the power on earlier

Mate, gotta say I find that there is a little turbo lag, but Ive only driven the zf auto, which I prefer as you get that nice popping sound on upshifts as the engine momentarily shuts three cylinders down, still heck of a car though eh :-)

@Jimsa84 It may be a little trivial here but one think I do not like about the F6 is the fact that the from the front, its in your face, just like the Typhoon, but from the rear, the average person could easily mistaken it for a Xr6, its not in your face at the rear unlike the Typhoon with the big wing etc, like I said, trivial, but a F6 should stand out more in my opinion, and I prefer the interior of the Typhoon over the F6

@SOT03Y The steering, the dash, the electronic speedo, the steering wheel, the rear door changes, the seating position, the exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, forged pistons, longer sump, different oil pump gears... The list goes on! They're much more efficient at making good power and take heaps of boost and timing. I'll have to spend 1/2 as much to get it up to the same power level as my old one which is awesome

Commodore - All powered by American engines and gearboxes.

In other words, if we don't have to design something from the ground up, then we won't. (I'm sure Aussies ARE capable of that though).

sorry. just to clear that one up I was putting a sarcastic twist on it. Cars built here like ford and holden but are actually american owned get called aussie. By that logic the camry and magna are great aussie cars.

Its not really that they are built here... its that they have been designed/engineered from the ground up here by Australians... that makes Falcons/commodores/statesmens/watevs Australian.

Pretty much. Those who could make a difference just cant be fu*ked so like any nation we need something to believe in, so we might make some stuff up. Hardly unheard of in any country. Down here, we've pretty much only known the easy/good life so we dont see a reason to do anything worthwhile other than some sporting excellence.

No, being used by big American corporations to sell their products with a "made in Australia" tag on it, just to trick us into thinking Ford and GM are Aussie.
And I don't care how much better you think an "F6", or whatever, is than whatever else. It doesn't change the fact that big corporations (such as Ford) continuously lie to us about their origins.
Those cars probably "perform" 'cause they have truck-sized 3+ litre engines in light tin shells. No mention of handling...only speed. "Wow".

You've missed the point. Ford are not Australian, as is so often claimed...even in THEIR advertising!! Same goes for Holden.
