IMPORTANT: When ordering your 1&1 Host make sure you order the LINUX version.

Even if you have the MS operating system, you can still use LINUX . I called support at 10:30 pm (24hr service) and they converted my contract with no fees and I received confirmation about five hours later.

@kingchris456 I would try contacting 1and1 support and see if they can convert your account over to a *NIX box with MySQL. They're typically pretty good with support.

@Agentxile Hey man, I just logged into 1 of my 1and1 accounts and if you scroll down under Webspace & Access you should find MySQL Administration. If you're not sure if your account has MySQL it may help to contact 1and1 support. Hope this helps!

I keep getting stuck at the 1and1 site in control panel there is no MySQL icon in web space and access. Can you tell me what I missed?

Where do you get the port # from when you're in the site manager?  (you put in "21")
