Wow guys thanks for the good comments. I havent put a video up in years. This was a 3 hour project I thought up one day and I am going to start using this a lot more. So keep checking for more videos.
the reason a bandanna is worn is to keep sweat out of your eyes the majority of sweat comes from that area that would be the real reason why. now it could also be he (big boss aka naked snake) wore the bandanna because it was THE boss's bandanna but i still think its for the sweat reason or to keep his hair out of his eyes since the hair wasn't a problem at the time also could be because snake was based on rambo can't remember where i saw that though

snake was actually based off of the character snake plissken portrayed by kurt russell in the movie escape from l.a.
rambo is too big for snake to be based off of him lol.

That bandana belonged to The Boss. He grabbed it when before he fell off the bridge. The bandana reminds him of her everyday.
