  • dag.i still can't believe you did that on a beginner's keyboard.i am absolutly speachless

  • Good

  • The Motif never ceases to amaze

  • The beginning run was SICK!!!!! I want to hire whoever did that!

  • Ouvi sua demo song, no link, e achei simplesmente fantástica!!!

  • 2:13 Super Smash Bros. Melee All Star Mode Song.

Fun Fact: The Original Yamaha Motif Keyboards and Rack were released on the SAME year as Super Smash Bros. Melee and Nintendo Gamecube; 2001.

  • Haha yeah, I noticed a lot of "Brawl's" OST uses the same sound bank.

  • Melee actually never used a Motif (that I know of). but It's most likely that Brawl Did.

  • @RaldyV

Yeah, a lot of brawls sound track does make use of a lot of the same sound bank sounds. Just have to check out some of the songs. You'll most likely hear it if you know how the Motif sound banks are.

  • hey how much do you want for the 01 rw i want one like that

  • I got a CASIO WK3300 time to move up...I dont think Im getting the Xs rack this seems to be what I need and is much cheaper.I just hope I dont regret not buying the XS in the future...

My casio doesnt ahve MIDI ports only a USB port, thats what I used tor ecord MIDi in my laptop, will it work with the rack?

  • @fede4real

In a sense it should work but, the way how the Motif reads midi is a little different. If you have a Guitar Center in your area, you could bring your keyboard and test it out. Usually they use the usb connection for hooking it up to a pc. But, to answer you question if it works directly from a keyboard, I have to try it myself. I have a Yamaha KX 61 which uses usb and a/c adapter for power. So I'll write back to you if it works.

  • @blitzwater

Yes It will . I have tested it personally. I have a Yamaha PSR 295 and it has USB. I connect it to my computer. Connect the rack (XS) to my computer. Download Yamaha studio Manager. Tell the Yamaha studio manager running on the computer that USB-MIDI on channel -1 from Yamaha PSR ( CASIO WK3300 in your case) will be input and the Rack XS will be Midi Out.

  • @blitzwater

What's the name of that patch that starts at 2:46 where your opening the filter with the wheel ? I just love the sound. Is it on the Yamaha Motif Rack XS as well? If so I'm going to buy one ;o)

  • Does anyone know ?????

  • @mxrmxr1 It's called New Lover in Performance mode.

  • @blitzwater hi did u finally test your usb keyboard with the rack?that would be very helpful to me thank you!

  • @fede4real Hey, unfortunately the only way I can connect the Motif is through a MIDI cable directly from my keyboard to the Motif. USB is a different story. I can't connect it directly to the Motif because the factor is the cable itself. My Yamaha KX keyboard USB port uses Type-B for the port as well as the Motif. Then the cable that came with my keyboard uses "Type-B to Type-A" for the other end. I have no choice but to connect "both" devices to the computer and use a DAW to have them interact.

  • @fede4real ok thanks for trying anyway :-)

  • hi iam a keyboard player..... can you please give me the information about motif rack es.... for what keyboards this is usefull... what are the features requ

i have CASIO CTK810IN which is having MIDI & USB features.

  • @MrAvinash1100 I guess any keyboard with midi port will do (wich I dont have in my casio 3300) and the features are basicaly those of the motif es keyboard.Your keyborad wold serve a controller and you choose the sounds in the rack as n the demo. From what I heard motif xs has the most realistic sounds regarding pianos guitars...but the posibilities are endless.google for the motif rack es and you wil find out the feaures..

  • Nice rack! that is all.

  • ahh, the sound of those compressed waveforms, compressed to fit on a chip, 16 tracks of mp3 quality...

  • Spacey, jazzy, chill kind of stuff...I also play guitar so that influences a lot of what I do.

  • Yes, well it's a cool rack. As I've got the hardware thing down, I'm looking at getting into a VSTI like Omnisphere...heard great things about that software!

  • Yeah, Spectrasonics make quality stuff. I wouldn't mind grabbing a copy as well. What kind of music do you do?

  • Keyboards with built in speakers...ayeeee. I've got my ES midi'd up to my Korg Triton Studio (plus a Roland JV 1080, D 552, Alesis QS, EMU Vintage Keys)...great combination!

  • haha, i don't use that keyboard nor my motif as much now. I've moved on to using Logic Studio for my macbook pro.

  • I checked out this keyboard and WOW!!

Saw a vid on youtube. Crazy how many soundz and synthesizers

  • that was cool you played Wind from Akeboshi from Naruto ending 1 :D

  • how much will it cost in indian currencey please

  • personally i perfer the keyboard(for a real studio feel) but i u want 2 save space the rack is ur best bet and besides it connects through midi and it has the sounds the full keyboard

  • Hah, you right, now I want one.

  • What does the rack do?How can u alter keyboard notes'like warping bass'for hip hop?Anyone?

  • yeah its the bollox mate , iv got the motif es6 but i assume the rack does anything that the keyboard can

  • It can almost do everything the keyboard can except for these. It lacks a sequencer, and it lacks sampling. Those are the 2 main things.

  • cool

  • This wasn't a DGX-520 was it???

I'm thinking about buying one...what exactly is the difference between weighted keys, and lightly weighted keys? Can you still do dynamics with lightly weighted??

    PLEASE RESPOND!

  • i feel exactly the same about the casio :)

  • Can you do a video showing trumpets and saxes please?

  • 弾き方が気持ち悪いw

  • the song is 100%!!!

  • what kind of keyboard u got?an the rack can hook up to any keyboard with midid

  • This guy on YouTube named Jeyyounit11 got one of these and made some pretty sick beats, check 'em out.

  • would you say its a rack setup well worth the price?

I would mostly use the piano and strings for my type of music...

  • hello ,, can someone help me out ,, what do you set your keyboard/motif rack to ,,,, so i dont here the sounds of my keyboard only the sounds of the motif rack ,,, like he is doing in the vidoe ,,, thanks this is a cool video the motif es rack is awsome , im gettin 1 next week

  • just turn the volume of your keyboard off. and turn up the volume of the motif.

  • Alternatively, most MIDI keyboards have an option called "Local On/Off". If you set it to local off, notes information is sent to the MIDI Out port, but not to the internal sound engine on your keyboard, effectively turning it off!

  • Ooops - this answer was to the questin krzone81 posed below!

  • can u output the samples through a midi interface like vanbasco?

  • i used to own a motif es 6...unfortunately i dont have it anymore....im thinking bout getting the rack....can i use my midi keyboard and somehow chain it to the motif es rack and that to my mpc1000 to sequence....and whan i turn it off after saving and turn it back on have it remember my whole song??

  • What are you playing at 8:16 ... I've heard it somewhere but where?... Its from some final fantasy game something?

  • Isn't it from Super Mario 64?

  • Thanks. havent heard it in many many years ...

  • the rack doesnt have a sequencer or sampler rihgt? i am soo confused about whether to buy a used yamaha motif es7 or es6 or the yamaha mo8 or a controller with the es rack... why do they have to make so many choices!!!! anyone can help?

  • pull yourself together. I would just say it depend on your budget. If you have the money and need. it would be dumb to get the rack and a controler. if you have a lets say a triton and wanted motiff sounds too then you would get a rack etc.. you have to think about what your needs are.

  • hm i see a ffx2 poster

  • cool! at 6:48 u were playing silence before the storm on the piper mode it sounded sooo nice! these things are awesome. unfortunately i dont have a key board. =[

  • hey is that a ffx-2 song book in the background? nice sound to that motif. I like how many different sounds you can get out of these things! nice job.

  • wait so it can hook up to n e midi keyboard?

  • So how did you used the voice from the rack to the keyboard, i mean did you change the settings?

  • If i have a M-audio Keystation 88es can i use it with the motif rack?

  • absolutely

  • goshhhh i want this thing just so i can make sounds like at 2:40 its so beautiful

  • omg this is so beautiful song in the beginning, what is the first song called?

  • The Audition Button

  • eres chafa

  • WOW

I have the casio wk 3700 too

Is cool the things that you make whit your motif

  • except the first piano one is lush.

  • Doesnt sound all of that to be honest, patches are a bit cheesy and GMish

  • nice

  • Blizwater. I have the korg extreme 88 and my friend just bought yamaha s90 es. I like the yamaha because i can play really soft/loud. I am thinking about getting the motif es rack. does it allow me to play soft/loud like the s90 es keyboard?

  • It has touch capability just use your korg, should be fine. But the s90's piano sound beats the motif rack es.

  • does the motif rack comes with a built-in quantize?

  • can i have a motif rack with (for example) a korg keys?

  • Yes. Just make sure it has a midi out port.

  • wassup tell me whats better es6 or triton extreme

  • It depends. The korg is the king of synths. The motif is the king of acoustic like sounds.

  • I have both the motifes and the tritonextreme and some of there sounds sound almost alike the seq. is easier to use in the motif and the triton. but combine the motif and triton and you'll a monster setup. oh yea i hav da fantom-X this board sucks dont get it

  • I see, wow.. I was actually planning on getting a Fantom X in the future. Guess I'll scrap that idea and get a Korg next lol.

  • lol yea dat will be the best way to go, dont get me wrong the fantom is a good studio board, but when it comes down to live gigs its not so great. one big problem i dont like is it takes forever to power-up. it has sum tight bass and lead guitar sounds, and fender rhodes. but the piano sounds they only sound good when you're using weighted keys. without the weighted keys the acoustic pianos sound real cheezy

  • of course you can that feature is programmable.

  • so the motif rack is very handy if you want to make your own trance and techno tracks for a living coz that would be sweet

  • if the rack is 1100 why dont you just buy a motif es6 or 7 or 8 for only a couple of thousand more. it looks so weird watchin those amazing... AMAZING... yamaha sounds come out of a cheap (well cheap compared to yamahas pro keyboards) casio keyboard. Gotta love Yamaha and their MOTIFS!!!!!!!!!

  • On the es8, balanced hammer action isn't to my liking. I have a real weighted Yamaha keyboard now I prefer it that way. I'm buying a small 61 key midi controller with dedicated analog knobs for travel. And I'm going to be using software synths like project 5 ver.2 reason 3.0, artvista virtual grand piano, cakewalk dimention, spectrasonics atmosphere. The motif's action doesn't feel pianistically good. But when it comes to recording.. it owns .. lol

  • lol very try... im thinking about getting me a es7 soon.

  • Have you seen the Motif Xs? It's the successor to the es series.

  • yea my uncle owns a xs... he loves it but its a little too much... i am only 16 and this is my started keyboard. i own an acoustic steinway and sons upright piano and i need a keyboard to play with my band. the xs has way too many sounds to access easily between songs with the band and is way too expensive. believe me if i could i would have one the day it came out. lol

  • Nice Steinway are the best. lol yeah it's just too expensive. I don't really find those features all that great either lol. I like the motif's sounds they are actually (useful). The interface is really easy to edit your sounds and multi mode is where it's perfect to integrate to your computer. But when you first get it. It needs more treble it sounds very flat when you start it up first time.

  • What's the name of the synth you used at 4:47?

  • Holy hell! I better start saving!

  • How much did that thing cost? I'm from Australia and it would be worth more in AUD.

  • $1,099 USD

  • Beautiful yamaha Motif rack ES!

WOW, also "All Star" of Super smash bros melee"!!! Good

  • i've just baught it...a dream!!sounds are marvellous even in the different mode (multi, perform and so on..).Since I 've seen this vedeo, I was completely mad...I fall in love with all these sounds.and It's only the biginning.Sorry for my(bad english)...But I'm french...lol.

  • wow bruh that shit tight check out the beats at myspace(dot)com/elsewherebeats

  • i have the same keyboard(Casio wk 3700)but that other thing is asoweome

  • Can u recoard on that ????

  • No its for sounds.

  • there are 1152 normal voices + 65 drumkits on this rack.

  • I wont this rack so much... I have Yamaha PRS 1000. You can mix really good sounds on it, but you cannot improove piano sounds much, you can only add some reverb and some other effects.

  • ugh i want one =[

  • get 1200 dollars haha

  • That piano is so precious and beautiful

  • amd for ever!

  • i just got the motif and i am just starting to play with it. i'm trying to fugure out how to assighn different midi channels to it.. LOOL I have the same keyboard th 3200 to b exact!! my girlfriend got it for me so i can start music lessons. i use a mpc 2000xl, protools and have a proteus sound module and a pair of mackie hr824's. Judging from the demo u did of the motif i believe i have spent 1100 dollars wisely. thx!!

  • definitely, especially with pro tools, you can make some bad ass music man, good for you

  • How many Sounds Got That Baby?? (witouth Appregiotors)

  • can I connect Motif Rack to my computer without using a music keyboard?

  • Yes, you can. Ahh.... I want one so bad... Such great piano patches...

  • That keyboard is majestic. U play very well.

  • its not the keyboard its the rack. hes sending note signals to the fancy rack with midi, which plays the sounds, the keyboard is not that amazing whatsoever, i have that exact one.

  • Hey you played stuff from Final Fantasy 10! Awesome!

  • well we do country gospel music and verys other types of gospel music in my church. I do new age music and electronica music. I also do music from all over the world and music from Israel and stuff.

  • My paster from church writes music also and so dose his son.

  • interesting what type of music does he compose?

  • well I like the way your stuff sounds I am also a keyboardist as well I have a CASIO WK3000 and I play for my church. the name of my church is Faith Chapple. I also write music and stuff like that. I use Fruty Loops and I also use power tracks pro audio and band in a box and a few other programs but mostly play the keybaord. and some of those sounds on your tone generator I would be able to use those sounds to make and add on to some music I been working on called Israel the Gerny Home

  • that's really interesting. right now im running sonar 4.0 and just using it as my midi sequencer. and using my yamaha p60 as a midi controller. Hey if you want to look at more video demonstrations of this motif rack. (Type yamaha motif on youtube search engine then you'll see variouse video demonstrations.) It's a great machine with a lot of potential, a lot of things are possible with this.

  • what kind of tone generator is that and what is that other one on top of there because I might buy those when I find them on ebay or some thing I like it

  • it's a yamaha motif rack es... lol

the other is a korg module but it's sounds are horrible and obsolete they don't sell it any more, nor do i use it any more. i'd have to look at the model # to check it out.

  • I THINK I DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN--SOUNDS IMMACULATE

  • Shooush.....

  • HAHA. I Like that Naruto Outro Theme you played at about 3:46. I love that song, "Don't Cry". Nice playing.

  • :O i want the guitar one!

  • nice!

  • nice playing
