Yeah, a lot of brawls sound track does make use of a lot of the same sound bank sounds. Just have to check out some of the songs. You'll most likely hear it if you know how the Motif sound banks are.
I got a CASIO WK3300 time to move up...I dont think Im getting the Xs rack this seems to be what I need and is much cheaper.I just hope I dont regret not buying the XS in the future...
My casio doesnt ahve MIDI ports only a USB port, thats what I used tor ecord MIDi in my laptop, will it work with the rack?
In a sense it should work but, the way how the Motif reads midi is a little different. If you have a Guitar Center in your area, you could bring your keyboard and test it out. Usually they use the usb connection for hooking it up to a pc. But, to answer you question if it works directly from a keyboard, I have to try it myself. I have a Yamaha KX 61 which uses usb and a/c adapter for power. So I'll write back to you if it works.
Yes It will . I have tested it personally. I have a Yamaha PSR 295 and it has USB. I connect it to my computer. Connect the rack (XS) to my computer. Download Yamaha studio Manager. Tell the Yamaha studio manager running on the computer that USB-MIDI on channel -1 from Yamaha PSR ( CASIO WK3300 in your case) will be input and the Rack XS will be Midi Out.
What's the name of that patch that starts at 2:46 where your opening the filter with the wheel ? I just love the sound. Is it on the Yamaha Motif Rack XS as well? If so I'm going to buy one ;o)
@fede4real Hey, unfortunately the only way I can connect the Motif is through a MIDI cable directly from my keyboard to the Motif. USB is a different story. I can't connect it directly to the Motif because the factor is the cable itself. My Yamaha KX keyboard USB port uses Type-B for the port as well as the Motif. Then the cable that came with my keyboard uses "Type-B to Type-A" for the other end. I have no choice but to connect "both" devices to the computer and use a DAW to have them interact.
hi iam a keyboard player..... can you please give me the information about motif rack es.... for what keyboards this is usefull... what are the features requ
i have CASIO CTK810IN which is having MIDI & USB features.
@MrAvinash1100 I guess any keyboard with midi port will do (wich I dont have in my casio 3300) and the features are basicaly those of the motif es keyboard.Your keyborad wold serve a controller and you choose the sounds in the rack as n the demo. From what I heard motif xs has the most realistic sounds regarding pianos guitars...but the posibilities are endless.google for the motif rack es and you wil find out the feaures..
hi iam a keyboard player..... can you please give me the information about motif rack es.... for what keyboards this is usefull... what are the features requ

Yes, well it's a cool rack. As I've got the hardware thing down, I'm looking at getting into a VSTI like Omnisphere...heard great things about that software!
Keyboards with built in speakers...ayeeee. I've got my ES midi'd up to my Korg Triton Studio (plus a Roland JV 1080, D 552, Alesis QS, EMU Vintage Keys)...great combination!
personally i perfer the keyboard(for a real studio feel) but i u want 2 save space the rack is ur best bet and besides it connects through midi and it has the sounds the full keyboard
I'm thinking about buying one...what exactly is the difference between weighted keys, and lightly weighted keys? Can you still do dynamics with lightly weighted??
hello ,, can someone help me out ,, what do you set your keyboard/motif rack to ,,,, so i dont here the sounds of my keyboard only the sounds of the motif rack ,,, like he is doing in the vidoe ,,, thanks this is a cool video the motif es rack is awsome , im gettin 1 next week
Alternatively, most MIDI keyboards have an option called "Local On/Off". If you set it to local off, notes information is sent to the MIDI Out port, but not to the internal sound engine on your keyboard, effectively turning it off!
i used to own a motif es 6...unfortunately i dont have it anymore....im thinking bout getting the rack....can i use my midi keyboard and somehow chain it to the motif es rack and that to my mpc1000 to sequence....and whan i turn it off after saving and turn it back on have it remember my whole song??
the rack doesnt have a sequencer or sampler rihgt? i am soo confused about whether to buy a used yamaha motif es7 or es6 or the yamaha mo8 or a controller with the es rack... why do they have to make so many choices!!!! anyone can help?
pull yourself together. I would just say it depend on your budget. If you have the money and need. it would be dumb to get the rack and a controler. if you have a lets say a triton and wanted motiff sounds too then you would get a rack etc.. you have to think about what your needs are.
cool! at 6:48 u were playing silence before the storm on the piper mode it sounded sooo nice! these things are awesome. unfortunately i dont have a key board. =[
hey is that a ffx-2 song book in the background? nice sound to that motif. I like how many different sounds you can get out of these things! nice job.
Blizwater. I have the korg extreme 88 and my friend just bought yamaha s90 es. I like the yamaha because i can play really soft/loud. I am thinking about getting the motif es rack. does it allow me to play soft/loud like the s90 es keyboard?
I have both the motifes and the tritonextreme and some of there sounds sound almost alike the seq. is easier to use in the motif and the triton. but combine the motif and triton and you'll a monster setup. oh yea i hav da fantom-X this board sucks dont get it
lol yea dat will be the best way to go, dont get me wrong the fantom is a good studio board, but when it comes down to live gigs its not so great. one big problem i dont like is it takes forever to power-up. it has sum tight bass and lead guitar sounds, and fender rhodes. but the piano sounds they only sound good when you're using weighted keys. without the weighted keys the acoustic pianos sound real cheezy
if the rack is 1100 why dont you just buy a motif es6 or 7 or 8 for only a couple of thousand more. it looks so weird watchin those amazing... AMAZING... yamaha sounds come out of a cheap (well cheap compared to yamahas pro keyboards) casio keyboard. Gotta love Yamaha and their MOTIFS!!!!!!!!!
On the es8, balanced hammer action isn't to my liking. I have a real weighted Yamaha keyboard now I prefer it that way. I'm buying a small 61 key midi controller with dedicated analog knobs for travel. And I'm going to be using software synths like project 5 ver.2 reason 3.0, artvista virtual grand piano, cakewalk dimention, spectrasonics atmosphere. The motif's action doesn't feel pianistically good. But when it comes to recording.. it owns .. lol
yea my uncle owns a xs... he loves it but its a little too much... i am only 16 and this is my started keyboard. i own an acoustic steinway and sons upright piano and i need a keyboard to play with my band. the xs has way too many sounds to access easily between songs with the band and is way too expensive. believe me if i could i would have one the day it came out. lol
Nice Steinway are the best. lol yeah it's just too expensive. I don't really find those features all that great either lol. I like the motif's sounds they are actually (useful). The interface is really easy to edit your sounds and multi mode is where it's perfect to integrate to your computer. But when you first get it. It needs more treble it sounds very flat when you start it up first time.
i've just baught it...a dream!!sounds are marvellous even in the different mode (multi, perform and so on..).Since I 've seen this vedeo, I was completely mad...I fall in love with all these sounds.and It's only the biginning.Sorry for my(bad english)...But I'm french...lol.
I wont this rack so much... I have Yamaha PRS 1000. You can mix really good sounds on it, but you cannot improove piano sounds much, you can only add some reverb and some other effects.
i just got the motif and i am just starting to play with it. i'm trying to fugure out how to assighn different midi channels to it.. LOOL I have the same keyboard th 3200 to b exact!! my girlfriend got it for me so i can start music lessons. i use a mpc 2000xl, protools and have a proteus sound module and a pair of mackie hr824's. Judging from the demo u did of the motif i believe i have spent 1100 dollars wisely. thx!!
its not the keyboard its the rack. hes sending note signals to the fancy rack with midi, which plays the sounds, the keyboard is not that amazing whatsoever, i have that exact one.
well we do country gospel music and verys other types of gospel music in my church. I do new age music and electronica music. I also do music from all over the world and music from Israel and stuff.
well I like the way your stuff sounds I am also a keyboardist as well I have a CASIO WK3000 and I play for my church. the name of my church is Faith Chapple. I also write music and stuff like that. I use Fruty Loops and I also use power tracks pro audio and band in a box and a few other programs but mostly play the keybaord. and some of those sounds on your tone generator I would be able to use those sounds to make and add on to some music I been working on called Israel the Gerny Home
that's really interesting. right now im running sonar 4.0 and just using it as my midi sequencer. and using my yamaha p60 as a midi controller. the other is a korg module but it's sounds are horrible and obsolete they don't sell it any more, nor do i use it any more. i'd have to look at the model # to check it out.
Brilliant module - very difficult to get hold of nowadays !

the other is a korg module but it's sounds are horrible and obsolete they don't sell it any more, nor do i use it any more. i'd have to look at the model # to check it out.

HAHA. I Like that Naruto Outro Theme you played at about 3:46. I love that song, "Don't Cry". Nice playing.
