I'd say it fits Britains history to a tee. From moving through the dark ages, to the Romans, Anglo Saxons, introduction of Christianity, further invasions, the growth of the British Empire, followed by its spread to ruling the world and then withdrawl back to just being the UK an old country which has seen and done a lot and is reminiscing about it.

I don't think this really fits Rome. I mean, this is a pretty angsty song, if you think about it. Rome doesn't really care that he's lost it all. He's still a pretty happy-go-lucky guy. England and most of the other nations, though, miss what thet've lost. Rome, not so much.

Now that I think about it, it does fit England. I love songs that fit anime characters. I think I would love England so much more if he was standing there, covered in blood, with a sword in his hand and a lust to kill. And I already love England a lot. XD

I think the reason that this fits a lot of Hetalia characters is because most of the Nations, have had a time/age where their power was number one, but everything has to fall. Like Rome, England, countless others. It's just the cycle of power. Nothing lasts forever, which is how it should be.

I was listening to this earlier and thought it matched England like you said. But it also matches USUK relationship of how he raised America then he left and they got in the war. Especially the drum part.
