Well it is all done live first on computer with Pro Tools. Then they replace each indivdual track with a studio track ,so it does match, they even have the drummer play to a click track via in ear monitors so the drummer can easily relace the drums later, it is just how it is done now a days folks.They usually keep all the crowd mics and backing vocals to keep the live feel. I would know I am a studio tech.
