Have you tried Combat? After being Assassin for quite some time and making the switch once I got the T1 legendaries my DPS has gone up at LEAST 4k. I was doing assassination properly, but combat seems to fit better, the flow seems to be better personally.

the title isnt how to maximise your dps as a rogue. its a basic mutilate rotation

Was just on swifty's channel and thought "what happened to the dude merc?"...anyways glanced by this channel. What Merc fails to mention is that mutilate is currently the worst PvE spec atm. Sub is the highest single target dps, and Combat is very close to Sub single target, but due to it's cleave from bladeflury is far more a favorite among top raiders. Mut on the other hand, is only good fo mass AoE, which serves no real purpose in 4.3.

Over 50% of assassination dps comes from auto attacks and poisons, if you are not poison hit capped you are gimping your dps significantly. Poison hit cap is actually the most important thing .... Spell hit cap > mastery > haste > expertise > crit is the order you need to be gearing by. You also want to try to stand as still as possible while dpsing instead of strafing back and forth for no apparent reason. Once, again just dissappointed and hope this helps you.

Need to get Rupture up faster, on heroic you need to feint his stomps (should get into the habit even in LFR), saying no need to worry much about hit and gear for overall upgrades instead of stats? You talking about just going for ilvl over what's actually better for you? Sorry, just dissappointed.

@rsheasby Further to this, for those who don't do much or know much about PvE. 4.3 Dps simulations display Sub PvE as the highest damage output by a considerable margin. To reinforce what rsheasby stated, it is one of the hardest PvE specs out there currently, because it has a lot to fit in and manage. It severely lacks in AoE and because it requires some "ramp up time" is generally not used frequently in high end content because of the amount of swapping and AoE needed for a lot of fights.

Just a heads up, sublety and combat pve is the most preferable in 4.3 as of now. I do not say that muti spec is not the spec to go, but you have more cons and pros by having mutilate rather than going combat or sublety(this because of ultraxion and some boss mechanics making it harder as muti)

I know your probably not into raiding overall Merc, but I play Sub PvE and can tell you that it dominates in this last tier by quite a margin. You should try it, really engaging game play!
