im 18, male, and i cried when i first listened to this song. if music like this was more popular then what we hear from the pop stars the world would be a much more loving and generous place. im afraid of whats in the future but this gives me hope for a lot of things. this band and their music repairs the broken faith i have in mankind.
Does anyone else see the similarities in singing style and mannerisms to Sting ? A cross between Sting and Evan Solomon of the CBC... Cool, atriculate and carismatic in a shy way... FANTASTIC BAND...
Hey, Hey Rosetta... come back out west as a heads liner VERY SOON ! Outdoors Malkin Bowl would be an awesome place to see them live !
I've honestly never heard any such song writing capabilities as Hey Rosetta! since The Beatles. I challenge someone to find me another band that you can say that about.
@TheEthanAndKyleShow Dude no Kings of Leon are terrible. Not to bash your tastes or anything, that's my personal opinion. But, every song I've heard by them has just flat out not cut it for me. I usually listen to tons of metal, stoner metal, thrash, death, as well as grunge and funk, so I have a wide range of musical tastes. Hey Rosetta! overpowers all of those tastes, and they're easily in my top 5 favorite bands. They're that good.
@BlackeytheKing I listen to all of that, as well. But have you listened to songs like Beachside? off of their new album i think beachside is amazing. Their older stuff I dislike greatly, but come around sundown was so good!
Hey Rosetta! is the only band that I can put them on shuffle for days and never have to skip to the next song. thats how good they are in everything they do.
I love Newfoundland to bits, it is one of the prettiest places on earth and it has the best music too. The licensing laws suck though when you ahave been brought up in London. We can drink in Churches and it doesn't have to be an over 18s show for them to serve it.
saw them last night. easily up there in terms of concerts ive seen, and in a small venue like the one they played, second to none. absolutely incredible.
i performed there for a talent show with my buddy.Check us out here on youtube search up joey coffin holy heart and find a couple of songs. Thanks great song btw.
The cellist looses his glasses whilst playing the end part, and did not even seem to notice. THAT is passion. I just found these guys, but I'm already in love.
@dk212 not completely blaming you but people need to stop with the arcade fire comparisons...its like one dude wrote about it once and everyone believed it...I don't see it. BTW Hey Rosetta> Arcade Fire
@Shep11111 Wow, what a JOKE, Rosetta is good but they aren't half what Arcade Fire is. There isn't a music critique, sale chart or sane individual on this earth who would agree with you. Most band like Rosetta owe this very 'scene' to The Arcade Fire.
@adamthe1st I got 3 thumbs up on that comment so obviously someone agrees. As if I care what any music critique thinks, hahaha sales chart, Hey Rosetta have only been around for a few years, indie label, started their scene in St. John's not Montreal, I don't have to go into what that entails for travel for an up and coming. It's obvious Arcade has sold more records..but Bieber probably has more than both combined by now, so do record sales = qulaity emotion provoking music? No.
@adamthe1st Also I'm quite sane and consider myself to have good musical taste, which doesn't mean much in such a subjectively consumed form of art. And finally Hey Rosetta is not part of Arcade Fire's scene. They have a violinst..that's about it. The Arcade Fire comparisons can stop because I watched Hey Rosetta make people tear at live shows long before Arcade Fire was ever used to describe their sound. Even when the band was covering REBELLION, no one made comparisons.
@adamthe1st I watched an Arcade fire show where two band members wrestled on stage and simulated a murder I believe. hahah try catching Hey Rosetta using gimmicks like that to try and buy mindless kids who might think that was cool. Arcade Fire have a huge amount of creativity, their own style, quality musicianship, and a sound to call their own. So does Hey Rosetta!, neither falls into either's "scene" and I prefer Hey Rosetta. Anything else?
Just saw this song in Burlington! Hey Rosetta has the most sincere, passionate live show I've ever seen. A simple video doesn't do their performance justice...go see them live!
as you can see here a great band, especially live. The recordings don't do them justice... I saw them @ the Mercury Lounge NYC last winter and it was a great show as well.
I get chills when I hear "What you've done is not your's alone. What you've done echos on and on..." Such a powerful song. LOVE to Hey Rosetta!!!!!

@BlackeytheKing I love hey rosetta, I was actually taught Jazz by the bassist.
but another great band you might like is Kings of Leon. Their new album "come around sundown" is extremely good.
And another artist with EXTREME talent is Imogen Heap.
All fantastic musicians.
