This was used for the first 5 episodes of Power Rangers when Saiban bought the rights for American TV. They re-dubbed the episodes. I remember watching these and thinking this very same thing. They were a blast to watch on late night TV. ;o)

This is obviously from the "second series", produced by a different crew. You can tell just by the different voice for Mel Fujitsu. This group just didn't quite have to oomph about it that the first crew did, unfortunately.

Calling this the real Dynaman is like calling those parodies of those GI Joe PSA's the actually GI Joe PSA's. Like Power Rangers, Sentai tends to make other series. It's 16th series Zyuranger (Dynaman was the 7th series) was adapted into MMPR season 1.

Were ANY of these Sentai shows translated into English that were faithful to the Japanese original as THEY saw it? Zyuranger/MMPR and Yugioh 1st season (Japan)/US Shonen Jump) are classic examples of this. Japan/US versions were worlds apart from each other. I'd like to know how the Dynaman story actually went. Did this ever make it to DVD in the US?
