I understand it was not Christopher Plummer's own voice, he mimed. Julie Andrews started off as a young girl with the puppet Archie Andrews here in the UK. Peter Brough was the ventriloquist many years ago. The Sound of Music will still be enjoyed in years to come...my daughter and grand daughter sing along with all the songs.

@silverstartrucker Have just read CP's memoir, `In Spite Of Myself', in which he states that the voice used in the songs was his, but had to be `enhanced' in places by another singer, due to his difficulty in sustaining some of the notes. I have always found it bewildering how it is a man with his stage voice can barely sing!
