I think this photo manipulation is brilliant. as far as finding a difference in your face, I've notice that in myself. one half is different than the other. that is so kool

Cool vid, but the left/right emotional/logical thing is a bit of a myth. The reason the two halves make different "whole" faces is simply that one side is slightly more expressive. As a side note, studies have shown that people with highly symmetrical faces are judged to be generally more attractive. For example, look at some in your video who are regarded as highly attractive (JT and Brad Pitt) - their composite faces are very close to their real faces, indicating a high degree of symmetry.

seriously check this out, it's weird.. it is as if the rational faces look more like their REAL faces than the emotional.. this counts for the men only btw! but it's kind of interesting!!!

here's my RATIONALIZATION to this : ) the emotional face looks sadder or vulnerable or more resentful, kinda uglier :) except in some cases where both the rational and the emotional looked somewhat alike this might indicate that these ppl are more balanced in their lives and can control both of their emotional and rational abilities pretty well..I like this you actually made some look better than their real selves.

Strange, for the men it seems a bit different. May be that males have a greater variety in what are chosen in celebreties, appearance-wise, but for the males it's more evenly split, but slightly leaning toward the emotional being more attractive, whereas for the females more often the rational was prettier.

This is a purposeful endeavor, but I think it may be flawed. Without taking these pictures yourself, there is no guarantee that they have not already been flipped from left to right before you got a hold of them. Even if the text behind them is right, they could have been Photoshopped in that way. Some people look better when their face has been flipped, and retouchers know this. So I believe some of these must be backwards. Some times the left face is more emotional and sometimes the right.

@guanxuchong Yeah, the Johnny Depp one is certainly a good example of the "Rational" face showing more emotion than the 'Emotional" one. The only explanation for this, short of the pic being flipped originally, would be that with his emotional brain, he was unhappy, whereas his rational brain was saying "You have to smile for the camera." It's interesting, but the only foolproof method would be to take the photos yourself. She's onto something, but no real conclusions can be drawn from these.

@mohair2012 these people are extremely symmetrical. plus i don't think it's very beneficial to use pictures which have already been highly photoshopped before she even modified them. Not all of these were previously photoshopped... but some obviously were.
