@Evimonk Hiring Cheryl was like hiring a mass amount of press coverage which got the show on the front pages of the tabloids everyday. That has to be the main reason why the raitings went up. Sharon Osbourne wasn't disliked by many on series 3 and 2 and on the series she was disliked on (by a few) the raitings were higher then the previous series. So therefore I think Simon did the right thing for his show by promoting Cheryl.
