If artist can't influence each other, then expect some dull sounding music ahead. I just don't get why you're bashing the guy who said, "He was influenced by THIS band.". You might as well go call John Lennon a plagiarizer, because he said many times that he took from other artist. Kurt Cobain also took from his favorite bands.
Cobain had a gift for writing melodies. Jack White is okay with melody at best. The best thing about 7nationarmy is the slow creeping groove and the rhythmic approach... which was lifted from this.
The triumphant bombastic rock sections in 7NA is what sets it apart from this song. If the recording quality of this Gories song was on par with all the cash that went into recording 7NA, you'd scoff at the White Stripes too.
