That alone doesn't make it the greatest land predator on Pandora. Did it kill anything? Did it smash any mechs in the final battle? Nope. It put up a meager fight against Quaritch, and then got stabbed to death. Almost as much a disappointment as Darth Maul's death.

@Scrumpilump2000: I actually think Jurassic Park is better than Avatar, visual-effects wise. I mean, Avatar is very impressive, but I could never really suspend my disbelief in this alien world like I could with the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park.

The reason not many people were "flabbergasted" by the Avatar effects is because

visual effects are nothing new. With JP, well it was pretty much the first movie ever to do what they did. Now again, that doesn't mean JP had better graphics, if you were to compare JP to Avatar, it would be very evident that Avatars graphics are by far superior.
