You video is nicely designed, as an art piece. However, there are Taylor series expansions which gives better approximations of sine and cosine functions.
Half circle waves, miss the mark a bit. I do not know offhand a technique of pure geometric construction which would approximate those functions more closely.
Perhaps there would be a method through the construction of pythagorean triangles, and arctangents.
