  • @Trampions photosynthesis my first skate video

  • 90's RADIOHEAD is british nirvana ???

  • @n0ise92 This doesn't sound anything like Nirvana.

  • @WarriorOfSunlight but i love RADIOHEAD on 1992 - 1998 .. that time they rock

  • The Beatles now dont seem impressive, but people need to take into account that it was music made over 40 years ago, that defiantly adds a sense of novelty to their music. Today, its not impressive, but I can imagine that 40 years ago, it would have blown someone's mind off. Time does matter.

  • how do i get this on cd

  • @GoSolar , you are completely correct.

  • Radiohead's B-sides kick the collective ass of everyone else's A-sides.

  • @GoSolar smashing pumpkins

  • @FrancisNirvana Interesting. For me, the Smashing Pumpkins were never in the league of, say, Nirvana (which is in your name). It's true that Corgan always sounded incredible, but I just don't think they reached the level of genius (like, IMO, Nirvana or Radiohead did.) But maybe I just don't know their material well enough...

  • I love the way they say go at the beginning

  • And Kid A is not atonal. It is still very much grounded on pop-song structures. Everything In Its Right Place is catchy as hell. Just atypical not atonal.

  • one of my favourites if not my favourite

  • Ahh yes...back when Radiohead still used "guitars" and "amps." Funny how bands always sound way better when they use those things....

  • @19BCG87 "To me, it seems a little bit sad and pathetic to just rely on a guitar and a voice forever more" -- Thom Yorke

  • @zanizone45

Yeah well, to me it is VERY sad when a perfectly good rock band throws in the towel to focus on putting out synth-based atonal noise for the sake of "pushing the envelope" or "experimentation" or whatever other pretentious excuse they can come up with. Especially given the barren wasteland that is today's music scene. Fact is, their entire post-OK Computer discography COMBINED is not worth one track off The Bends.

  • @19BCG87n You don't really seem to know what you're talking about. Radiohead didn't 'throw in the towel' for the sake of experimentation, it's obvious they were pretty sick of only doing rock music and wanted to move forward into the electronic genre. Even so, from Kid A onward they do still have a lot of rock music, which is great. Most fans (myself included) like them now as much as they ever did - I happen to like synth.

You can't tell me you don't appreciate an album such as In Rainbows...

  • @19BCG87 No. Pyramid Song alone is worth more then The Bends times one hundred.

  • @mumbleinout

Do you really believe that, or are you just ironically responding to my somewhat closed-minded comment? :) I find it hard to believe that anyone could sincerely think that. I guess its a listenable song. Now, I like Radiohead. I certainly respect them and respect their musicianship. I appreciate their willingness to go out on a limb as well as stick it to the music industry, and TOTALLY sympathize with the view that music should be viewed as art and not a product.

  • @mumbleinout

Finally, I fully support their right to do whatever they want musically and "experiment" if they want to. That being SAID, I'm sorry, but I like Radiohead best as a rock band. And while there might be some decent tracks in the 14 year catalog of their work that I dismissed, as a whole it just doesn't do it for me, soundwise. You can pick it apart and say "you're wrong, look...there's a guitar riff in THIS song, and vintage Thom vocal delivery instead of distorted

  • @mumbleinout

mumbles in this other one, and barely any synth in this one!" That's not my point. Im just sayin, all is well and good, do what you feel like, keep making the music that makes you happy, keep messing around with synths and different rhythms and distorted vocals and strange dancing ,etc. But please, for christ's sake, ONCE IN A WHILE, fire up the amps, plug in, bang out a 4/4 rhythm, and give us a soaring, melodic, beautiful piece of rock n roll like you used to!

  • @mumbleinout While that guy is wrong, that too is an overstatement. The Bends deserves more respect, and I think it has some of Radiohead's best songs. Planet Telex is actually my favourite RH song overall, (Think what you will of that) and Just is an absolute classic. Not to forget Street Spirit, one of my highest rated songs by them, which I'd say is simply incredible, as beautiful as Pyramid Song...

  • @19BCG87 they still use those? O_o

  • @19BCG87 Way back? All of In Rainbows included drums and guitars. Watch the Live In basement vid.

  • This should have been on OK Computer instead of Let Down. sure the lyrics are good but it sounds boring and repetitive unlike the rest of the album.

  • radiohead should do more songs like part 1 of polyethylene or faust arp it just sounds beyond beautiful

  • THIS IS RADIOHEAD'S BEST SONG.

  • looking forward to muse's new single "polystyrene"

  • Comment removed

  • This. Is. Fucking. Brilliant. Full. Stop.

  • @daggerheart03 I AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • How have I only just discovered this? I own almost every Radiohead song ever written? Wow, emotional breakdown!! I

  • I've got the CD's, one of them with Thom's autograph. Will always remember when he signed it (Karma police single), because I took a photo of him that he also signed two days later in another concert. I was such a freak...Loved it. Love'em.

  • Jason Dill sent me here with his bit in Alien Workshop's Photosynthesis and Radiohead has been my favorite band ever since. Thank you Jason.

  • polyethylene is on my paranoid android ep.

  • @JimPatriotPL I guess I'm a nerd then. Nerds are smarter than dumbasses like you and they have a better taste in music.

  • radiohead is for nerds.

  • @JimPatriotPL Go to Alicia Keys videos and shut up

  • Gho!

  • The best song ever.

  • I really enjoy these b-sides from the Computer era; just really free-wheeling and confident, and like, experimental without the fun having been compromised.

  • why are you so great radiohead?????? why?????

  • jason dill from 1999 sent me here :P

  • Does anyone else hear a faint fart at 4:12?

  • Go!

  • I think this is Radiohead's biggest song. It's huge!!!

  • @TheLameGoat supercollider

  • B -side!?! What... Lets just bust out a mega song for our B - sides shall we then...

  • this song was intended to be in Ok Computer

  • @rdhdbrrc What happened???

  • There is one difference between Lady Gaga and Madonna, One NEEDS people to write her music (Madonna, to be fair she occasionally co-writes) and the other actually attempts to write (Lady Gaga) now I dont care how bad or good you are, if you write your music and DONT use over at least 5 co-writers, it means you actually care and that is pretty respectable. People like Kesha, Katy Perry, JB, etc. they pay people to co-write music for them and then they squeeze their names in the credits.

  • @antisadism that has nothing to do with radiohead

  • @spankycorkforker It does have something to do with the person I wrote that too. I just deleted the @ *insertname* to give me room.

  • @antisadism Why should anyone get credit or respect for writing shit? Thats like comparing a comic book to Shakespeare.

  • @MBledzephed I know, right?... Fucking Shakespeare sucks.

  • quite possibly the best radiohead song ever made.

  • @AirbagDeployed Its a great song even more amazing when you realise i wasn't good enough to make it on an album, but come on Personally Pyramid Song is there best but you could choose from PA, Street Spirit, The National Anthem or HTDC.

  • Comment removed

  • This song is easier to play on guitar when you sing too.

  • people! please don't start this lady gaga shit on here, just really upsets everyone

  • You Know What ? If there was a song from b- sides , this would a front runner , for all time cool, here You go

  • why is radiohead so awesome?

  • ONE TWO THREE four :)

  • Amazing song!

  • @talkingbeatlehead @dutchboy729 i oddly agree with both comments, but as i'm listening to this song again to respond to these comments, MAN is this song fantastic.

  • @demayojason88 Yes this song is Fantastic.

  • radiohead should make a b sides album called kid b

  • I´m sick of people trying to leave the coolest comment in every video

  • while their new album is very good, i'd love to hear some more stuff like this...

    thoughts?

  • @demayojason88 a return to the more rock-tastic Radiohead of The Bends would be pretty cool

  • @demayojason88 Hmm i like all Radiohead albums. I liked their early stuff, but when year 2000 hit i was blown away. OK Computer and The bends are good. But i can do without the Guitar for a bit. I would like TKOL2 to have a variety

  • @demayojason88 They have had their time in the rock genre imo i like how with TKOL they severed all ties that were left straggling after in rainbows with the rock genre, and im really excited wiht the new direction the band is taking things.

  • So sell your suit and tie and come and LIVE WITH ME....

  • What I find incredible with Radiohead is the amount of instruments and sounds they are able to incorporate into one song. It's incredible because I find every time I listen to one of Radiohead's songs I find something new, which constantly makes it unique. I could listen to Radiohead for years and never get tired of it. Truly my favourite band.

  • You mean like if someone likes Lady Gaga and Radiohead?

  • @OctopusMimesis i don't get it.

  • @crazyedd123 Both quite stupid. :)

  • @OctopusMimesis Well if graduating Yale is your idea of stupid then. Something something.

  • @antisadism They don't teach you grammar and syntax at Yale? Fake and stupid. Hahahaha...

  • @OctopusMimesis I don't recall ever saying I went to Yale, I just know a couple of people who do who also like Radiohead or Lady Gaga or even Justin Bieber. Unless you want to point out when I specifcally said I went to Yale.

  • @OctopusMimesis Really? because last I checked, the stupid people were the people who falsely stereotype other people without coherent evidence.....Like you.

  • @JustinStockdale1 I like you too.

  • Comment removed

  • @OctopusMimesis Besides the fact we like the best band ever (yes I do regard Radiohead as better than the Beatles, dare you to argue ;)) and they like one of the most over-rated artist's ever?

  • @Renegademaster15 can u please define over-rated ?

i hate to stumble upon typical radiohead fans..

its the "my favorite band is the best. and urs suck" arguement all over again.

  • @MrCruZ1992 Believe it or not Lady Gaga is not very original, go look up an artist called Madonna and you'll see it's all been done before

Lady Gaga is good at what she does, which is pop music, popular music for the disenchanted masses, it's fast food music, it's the equivalent of comparing McDonalds with The Fat Duck

If you really want to try claim Poker Face is better than Paranoid Android, be my guess, I'll be no part of such an idiotic discussion

  • @Renegademaster15 i stop reading once u mentioned lady gaga in sentences. nvm we'll try this again.. i was replying to ur comment about the beatles being "overrated" and radiohead is better than them.

if you really want to try claim radiohead is better than the beatles, be my guess,i'll be no part of such and idoitic discussion

  • @MrCruZ1992 It's no doubt that the Beatles are the most influential band ever, that however doesn't mean that they are the best, just because you do something first doesn't mean no one can improve on it

  • @Renegademaster15 The Beatles never did something first.

  • Beautiful song! Thom York is the master of indie Music! ^^

  • lets see, 4/4 to 9/4 to 3/4 back to 4. i love you radiohead

  • ...it's just so good. There's nothing else to say. Radiohead is just so good, period.

  • to find radiohead's B-sides is like finding a great game after finishing a great game.

  • radiohead. it is all in their name. greatest band in the past 20 years in my opinion. they do it all and it ALLways works.

  • i almost shit my pants when i listen to these song!

  • @jiffyfoob Comon Fitter Happier is their best song.

  • First time i heard this song was in Jason Dill's part in some Alien Workshop video. He had the last part, and the video opens with a telephone conversation with the team manager reminding him how important this part was for him (sleep every night, eat right, etc...). While the audio is playing, there are black and white photos of his trashed room, and his disheveled appearance. This song has kind of a "failed heroism" sound to it to me, and Dill's part was awesome over it.

  • @clovengoatlord this video actually made me a radiohead fan ^^

  • No song off OK computer can ever get old, no matter how many times you listen to it.

  • @willynillyism

WHAT this is fantastic but seriously taking the tourist off OK computer i dont think so

dont see why this couldn't have been included as 13th track as malonervozan said

Does sound like it would have fit in better on the bends tho

  • Noooo. Fitter Happier is the song that sort of describes the theme of the album. This song SHOULD have been on that album but it SHOULDN'T replace Fitter Happier.

  • @Baaoom

this song is great, but it doesn't belong on OK Computer. It has more of a The Bends vibe.

  • @LfunkeyA Exactly. This isn't a song for OK Computer. It would have totally broken the flow of the album. It would have been great on the Bends, but any album after that? Definitely not.

  • I love the artwork Radiohead uses.

  • Comment removed

  • GO.

  • This song should have replaced Fitter Happier

  • @jibbyfoob In my opinion, absolutly not fitter happier is a wonderful experimentation that brings a mood fitting perfectly in the album and nice lyrics it could have replaced let down though but this is so subjective :)

  • @jibbyfoob It's fine as a b-side. Fitter Happier is a statement, it belonged on the album.

  • THOM YORKE! I LOVE YOU

  • im completely depressed but for some reason radiohead makes me feel much better. thom rules.

  • @dopebozoish I know exactly what you mean. Good music is the best medication. When I'm feeling bad I jam to radiohead on my iPod and go for a nice long run.

  • what the hell that first part is so good do they have a full version of that song

  • I wish part 1 continued for a few minutes. part 2 is awesome too but part 1 is mind blowing.

  • one of my favorite Radiohead songs

  • As great as this song is, it just doesn't really fit on the album.

  • Take my hand Lord Jesus, I'm coming home!

  • this song is one of the best of RADIOHEAD is a master piece, just like my iron lung, wolf at the door or i dont know, bangers and mash

  • @kumapumper

i can't decide what song is my favorite. they are all, extraordinary.

  • What for?

  • sounds like what Muse got their sound from tbh

  • @crazyedd123 i completely agree. usually i find it quite annoying the constant constant comparisons between muse and radiohead, because yes it's clear Muse have been influenced somewhat by radiohead, but i don't think they sound all that similar tbh in the end. But yeah, i wouldnt be surprised in the least if matt bellamy loves this song

  • @crazyedd123 The key difference is that radiohead are the innovators and muse are the imitators. Radiohead creates timeless masterpieces and muse creates work that will die with their fans.

  • @EmptyAffair

    Wow great comment. I'm impressed

  • @EmptyAffair I'm not very knowledgable in music, but I like muse and I like radiohead, I'm sure some of muse's stuff will live on.

  • ive been obsessed with radiohead b sides lately they're so amazing! even as b-sides they no joke blow away 99 percent of whats on the radio today. right now gagging order is my fav b-side

  • @THeEraSerr

Yep, same here. Actually, I've been listening to the EP's and B-sides more than I have the actual albums lately...

Strange; because the songs on the B-Side albums sound like they'd be more rock-oriented songs, and yet no one seems to know of them.

  • ohhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have no idea why this and Talk Show Host didn't make it onto the Ok Computer album...

  • I agree, part 1 as a full version would be great!!!

  • part 2 is really awesome and epic why does this song seem so obscure. its like an epic summer song (maybe cuz i started listening to it last summer :P)

i love this and the trickster

  • this is my favorite radiohead song

i wish part 1 released by fuul version someday....

  • keep our surfaces clean!

  • Does anyone know what the name of the effect Jonny (I presume) has on his keyboard or guitar at 0:52? It's a real My Iron Lung EP effect. Sounds awesome!

  • @Davek1990: it's a phaser, probably the EHX small stone not sure though.

  • thats friggin brilliant!!

  • great!

  • It's hard to believe this song never made it on an album as one track.

    One of their best undoubtedly.

  • Pearly is a great song, look it up. One of Radiohead's best.

  • Certainly a top 10 song...

  • Such an epic song.

  • goddamn, if i was in radiohead i would have resigned if part two wasnt going on the album

  • In Rainbows is so well crafted i dont know that it could ever be toped.

  • *looks left*

    *looks right*

I like either Amnesiac or Hail to the Thief to the best.

But, Radiohead is without a doubt my favorite band, they were the first for me to actually own the entire discography of, I don't pirate, I'm lame I know but I support my local record store.

  • I'd do what you do if I actually had the money, so it's not lame at all.

  • @hashiepashi thats not lame, thats helping music

  • @hashiepashi Same here. I get laughed at when I tell people that I support my favourite bands that way. :\

  • @hashiepashi your local record label's business cats that go "meoow we don't care about artists"*? ;)

  • @hashiepashi There is NOTHING to be ashamed about by supporting your local record store. It's what makes this world go around. Kudos to you, my friend.

  • one of my favorite songs ever

  • the first part is the best

  • One of their best B-sides but it sounds more Bends-y than it is Ok Computer.

  • That's way true. I could see it on the Bends.

  • This and Pearly could very well be outtakes from The Bends. Both immense songs btw, just didn't have the feel of OK Computer.

  • I can easily see this on OK Computer, it suits the style very well.

    Pearly, not so much.

  • love this song ,really good one

  • I put them on the same level. In Rainbows wasn't as groundbreaking as OK Computer, and that's usually what the critics go off.

  • i like ok computer more, but for you to say that In Rainbows is inferior based on some snob critics' 'top 25' list....wow. You happen to be one of those toolbags who force themselves to like everything that Pitchfork gives above a 9.0 aren't you? Some people just love fucking with their mind.

  • leukaemia, schizophrenia, polyethylene.....

    Wow!! R'head is genius....

  • thank god for skateboarding

  • Yeah, Jason Dill Photosynthesis eh?

Always been a Radiohead fan, but his part in that introduced me to this tune.

  • yeah! thats how i heard of this song.. awsome skate vid

  • fuck yes photosynthesis , first time i heard it too when i first started skating like 8,9 years back, that and sight unseen were my motivation to skate every day.
