Check daily but don't pick the traps up cos the rat may get suspicious. Some people advise leaving unbaited traps in place for a couple of days so the rat gets used to them being around. One more important thing, don't leave food lying around elsewhere cos the rat won't go for the traps. Hope you catch the mo-fo.

@kuraidjinn - Sounds like you dodged a bullet with the rat being pregnant. I used a similar trap to the one in this vid once but.. the rat was so big it escaped without much harm after being caught in the trap! I have in the past used glue traps but also poison. My mate also told me of this special poison which dehydrates the rat so when it dies it doesn't smell. Glad you got rid of your problem rodent.

There is an easy way to keep out rats :) If you have holes in the corners of your house, there's this special stuff you can buy at home depot or somewhere, and you stuff in in the holes to keep rats from coming up. hope that helps all of you :)

I am for animal rights, but when rodents infest someone's house, there really is no alternative but to trap them hence, kill them. I don't believe in torturing them though.
I have a pet rat, They are not bad if u buy em from a vet like i did,Germ and disease free!! I take him to the vet weekly for check ups. Theyre not that bad if u decide to kill em.

There is an easy way to keep out rats :) If you have holes in the corners of your house, there's this special stuff you can buy at home depot or somewhere, and you stuff in in the holes to keep rats from coming up. hope that helps all of you :)

I have a pet rat, They are not bad if u buy em from a vet like i did,Germ and disease free!! I take him to the vet weekly for check ups. Theyre not that bad if u decide to kill em.
If you want then gone all u have to do is use a bucket trap then put it in your neighbors house. Then its their problem, Not yours.....>:)
especcially since i dont see if it gets killed

As well as rats are one of the most intelligent creatures as well. I used to have a pet rat when I was younger and they are really cool. Docile. You can teach them basic tricks. They are clean.
