I think the whole Buchi thing is it'd be like me naming a dalmatian the Russian word for tiger, which I do not know. A dalmatian is not striped like a tiger and what's also weird is that I'd be using a foreign name for the animal. The fact is Kate used the Japanese word for "spotted" to name her Persian cat when she was back in "Kaneda". Those of you who don't get that, the kanji she used literally translates into money (kane) and rice patty (da).

Buchi actually. If you look it up in a Japanese-English dictionary it says "spots" but as a native English speaker who doesn't know enough Japanese to even approach being fluent, I can't say what the significance of that name is.
