Hey, does anyone know how the USA Build G&L's compare to the Korean Built Ones that are available over here in Australia?

The ones I picked up felt good...but it certainly wasn't the level of these USA made guitars...but for the money, they are a good alternative to say a Mexican Fender...just put it in your hands, close your eyes and see how it really feels/sounds to you...and do it up-plugged to see how you really like it first...if it passes that test, then plug it in...you can always upgrade the electronics to tweak/improve the amplified sound...but the natural ring or resonance can't be changed.

My dad has this guitar. He put his own personal touch to it. On the bridge pick-up he put a little 59' humbucker pick-up for strat. It is a great guitar. I think G&L is gonna get noticed and become more popular than Fender. It's better than Fender.

I'm noticing that all G&Ls on youtube sound spankier and brighter than all strats. And it's not the amp, because all G&L's videos sound like this.

This is higher quality, yes, but I miss the strats dirty rough voice. A G&L is too perfect-clean.

A G&L strat is closer to the telecaster sound.

That pretty much sums it up...it's like a super strat...great in some respects but you lose that true (classic) Strat sound and feel...it's a well made guitar but it is not a Fender (or at least not a classic one as some of their modern designs fall short of that mark as well)...and I have plenty of Fender Strat demos done on the same amp with the same settings to compare it to. Sounds great No doubting the quality of that strat, looks good too, But the Amp has a lot to do with the tone, i own a supersonic and they are true valve tone monsters..How much do these GnLs cost ? I also own a Delux Strat & this also takes some beating for the money, although i just got a chinese classic vibe telecaster for £ 260.00 uk and it`s very good indeed. doesn`t always pay to get origional, I havn`t seen any GLs local to me.

Hey Craig...god to hear from you again...I don't recall deleting any comments...it's a rarity when I do that...usually only when someone gets real belligerent or has a bad case of "potty mouth"...If I removed any of yours it would have been by accident. Green = good! It is the hardest to sell/re-sell color, but it is my favorite!

I would like to own a FENDER,but I don't think that they are worth the money that you have to pay for a known name. I did a gig on one once, but the one that I used didn't impress me. It was a telecaster.

G&L are the best guitars made today period. I believe the Comanche is the best, versitile and most unique guitar they make. Well worth the dough. G&L makes the best teles. The ASAT model. Their other Strat models are not much, if at all better than Fender US Standards. I still would buy G&L over the mass produced Fender. Bass? Nothing is more impressive to me lately than Warwick. heavier, yeah. The sound is just so great.

Just picked up a G&L S-500 this week. This guitar smokes period. Super fast neck, comfortable, great balance, tone is superb and wtth the Fender S-1 type toggle switch, and above all the quality G&L insists on, this is a must if you enjoy Fender Strats

Hi and thanks right back! It is an Ash body...it's a combination of a lot of variables including the design, wood choices, attention to detail, bridge design and materials, the nut, probably a bunch of stuff I'm forgetting, and the pickups...
