  • they're back. so glad. they're like a benchmark for babies born in 1980s. you'll just never get tired of them

  • White Love, as others have commented, is a song that will define for many J-Pop in the 90's, and thus has lived on in the collective memories of many, many fans. And now Speed is back together, reworking some of their original hits, and producing new music as well. Lucky for us!

  • since the debut of speed, i've always wondered what the other two girls at the back were for. they didn't need the mic!

  • @sapphiric

Hi, In a team, their work are different. Speed is a team. so, some will sing and some will dance.

  • 上原いい女になったね。

  • No their not. I can pick out the flaws.

  • they're definitely not lipsyncing...go listen to the original recording, there's a difference, they were definitely sing live.

  • 経験相応ということもある。

    しっとりとしたWhite Loveも好きだよ。

  • 大人っぽくなった!

    けどわたしは、昔がすきかも。

  • Yes, one of those legacy songs in Japan's music history that everyone will remember till the end of time....

    I'm local singaporean too ^^

  • Yeah, The vocal is still a preteenager.

  • same here! reminds me of my pri sch days! miss them!

But ive got a collection of their albums!!

    they sure are worldwide idols..

  • me too... =((( i miss them... but i do not have their real life dome tour. damn it... i didnt buy mans!! garghs. then it went out of stock... garghs.

  • 最初の間奏に入る前の絵理子ちゃんの「ふぅー」っていう

    表情がいい。

  • Erika Umeada from the Hello! Project Kids, this was her audition song.

  • i thought that they are still the number 1 selling band? 'none of their singles released ever sold below the 550,000 mark - a feat. yet to be matched by any other jpop artist or band''they sold over 20 million/20,000,000 units of CD before disbandment '

  • Well, not anymore they're not...it's been many years since they disbanded and we have so many very successful bands since then who sell astonishing amounts of their records.

SPEED were the no. 1 selling band when they were at the peak of their career. But it's been so long, now there's plenty of other bands who sell much more than they do.

But I think they still remain as 1 of Japan's top selling 'girlbands'.

  • Sure they can dance! Go watch their most recent single 'S.P.D' pv that came out earlier this year, their dancing was fantastic!

  • Speed was a popular group in the 90's. To the question about whether they are comparable to SMAP...I can say that "yes" or even more. They were at the same level as TRF, Globe, MAX, Namei Amuro at that time. If I remember correctly, they were the first teenage pop group and lead to the establishment to the girls pop group, such as the morning mesumes. But no one is comparable to them after their disband in 2000

  • but, for now and maybe for the future, they are not and will not be comparable to smap anymore, smap is japan's most popular and successful group...

  • I wouldn't be so sure, SMAP can be considered 'legends' in the japanese music industry, along with SPEED.

But SMAP has been very inactive in the music scene lately...probably since they're already too old to release anymore singles or albums as a "boyband", so they mainly focus on hosting shows & acting in dramas & movies nowadays.

Although they're still very popular, but there's other bands who are more popular than they are now.

  • oh cum on, smap is lik the band of yesterday. i stil lik thum, but i rathr lik the bands l8ly. but speed is diff. they r awesom! idk y speed disbandoned in theyre career.

  • Nope, trust me, SMAP are still very popular today...it's just that, they're not as active musically anymore.

By the way, SPEED is back, they re-formed in 2008, they just released a new single titled 'S.P.D' in may I think.

  • hiro wasn't crying, she was perspiring... Among the SPEED Members, she's the one that crys the least. Eriko rocks!

  • tis is taken from the speed dome tour lol

  • Is it just me or is it that only the two lead singers that are worth anything at all? I first heard this song on a CD, then looked for the name of the song via lyrics.

XD I like the crying lead singer best. Cutest.

  • XD Whoot!! Hiroko!! Just disappointed that she dated... Y'know. ): A bit too loose.

  • Who did Hiroko dated?

  • OMG, people are even doing the corny dance from the video. One girl was even crying. Were these guys popular on a SMAP level or something?

  • hmm...how to explain this...I read up on some articles and coincidentally obtained a song from them years ago. Apparently in the 90's they were uberly popular to their hordes of fans. I'd say they were as popular as SMAP or eve more so.

  • where was this taken from?

  • i think it was either their "last" concert or one of their final concerts before htey disbanded in 2000.

  • oops never mind.

  • this was awesome, thanks for uploading! (:
