Beautiful music played wonderfully with verve, passion and the technial skill of somene who has worked very hard in constant practice ...thankyou for sharring I enjoyed listening and I hope that you continue playing for ever more...the better the music is equtes to the less time I spend reading comments I love the comment by GldPlat..Well said sir!!!
Just to clear things up for the English speaking friends who don't seem to know much: Andrés Segovia has nothing to do with this piece, Segovia is a place in Spain, and "Alcázar" means castle. This piece is named after a castle in that place.
@GldPlat I enjoyed your post immensely. On first hearing of this piece I didn't think that Andre was involved in this piece. I have played for many years Iand I am constantly awed by the magnitude of talent and the depth of my own inexperience. This site is a treasure trove of exhileration.
2. Bomb it. Kill lots of people, destroy cities, spread chaos, steal their resources. Make the next generation hate your guts because of it
3. Bomb it again. After all they hate you (remember they are crazy fundamentalists) and they are so dangerous because they have WMD's (also known as AK-47's)
4. Repeat the process until there are no more resources to steal, no more people to kill, no more cities to destroy.
Why would segovia be turning in his grave! He didn't compose this piece! And what's more you couldn't say shit to segovia, he would kick your butt archlutesmith!
Bravo...bravoooooo , Oh My God .You are really Wonderful . An amazing ,tremendous .very beautiful . . .God Bless you .It,s Fantastic Hard Word .Love you .* * * * * * * * *
@archlutesmith Agreed. Segovia's style of playing is no longer relevant in guitar world. He never aimed for sound quality, nor refined technique, he only cared for making the guitar a concert instrument (loud). So any Segovia comment about he was the best is pointless. This is another era for the guitar.
@poetgrey1 I'm not an expert. I'm simply a third semester student from an Art Faculty in México who learned well from his guitar teacher. Or was it sarcasm? :)
hey,at least I made the top comment spot. come on, liten up alittle. segovia wasn't exactly mister politeness himself. He'd bring students to tears just cause they didn't play it exactly like he does.I just never cared much for segovia's style.loved his autobiography though.Fasinating historical book
@JesusMagicShow: it's played about half-again as fast as it should be. Technical excellence? Yes. Accurate following of the written dynamics and phrasing? Yes again. But it has none of the aristocratic sonority of the original recording. She gives us the viewpoint of a nobleman's castle as it might be seen by someone racing a horse past the walls.
@JesusMagicShow I enjoy coffee with cream as well. And if horseracing is your measuring stick, I agree that we have little common ground. To my ears, Ms. Vidovic plays it cleanly, correctly, musically, precisely, and at 2:40 on the recording, it's too fast. By comparison, Segovia's recording is 3:03 and Russell's is 2:53.
@davinort Perhaps you will like more the performance by the young Russian guitarist Anna Likhacheva, born November 13, 1993. There are some of her videos here on Youtube.
Entonces segovia es un lugar en España, no sabía pero no importa porque no soy culto.
