There is not much in China when it comes to composite carbon fibre technology. Possible production is best done in France, Italy and Germany where there is existences of Autoclaves and RTM systems. I believe all Pinarello frames are made in Italy, since there are a lot of carbon mouding plants in Italy, and the labour is quite cheap considering their production lead times and transport costs, it makes no sense to make it in China
Sorry mate but I used to do some business with Carbotech in Shenzhen China and most pinarellos are still made there. The carbon comes from Torayca in Japan and is woven in China. Almost everything comes from China these days because of obvious reasons like labour cost etc...
I have been to this factory several times and witnessed the production of Pinarello, Principia and Focus.
The brand is still italian like colnago is. Almost every mainstream brand is made in asia.
These videos do not show how their carbon fiber was made. It is highly possible that it's produced in Asia and only put together and painted in Italy. What do you guys think?
This is a very interesting video, but what the man says about magnesium is just plain wrong! Structural magnesium alloys don't have an "open structure" - they have a "hexagonally close packed" crystal lattice atomic structure. The ability of a material to absorb vibrations is proportional to the stiffness & density of the material... Yes Porous Mg does exist but would be even more prone to cracking...
Pinarello had this right all along with the oversize BB and the bigger internal bearings. They been doing this on the Dogma for over 3 yrs and now the rest of the world has finally seen the light. Thou the Dogma isnt BB30 i would say BB30 was definately inspired by the Dogma.
@JeRkYb0y No, BB30 and versions of it have been around for a long time in non-road bikes. I've been building bikes for over a decade so I know this. Pinarello's oversize is a different approach all together. I own a Dogma and an SLR01.
I think these frames are done 'by and'....

I start to hate the word "by `and" from this video

@raymondhu23 ...and only put together and painted in Italy ??!!....XDDDD
What a bizarre and clueless statement : assembling and painting is the most difficult part of the job .
All carbon prince ( the material the bycicle is made of ) in da world is from East and mainly ( 90 % ) from China .
The bycicles carbon is made upon Pinarello's design and project , Italian inspectors and tech experts
stay right there in the chinese factory to oversee and control all producing process
