  • Meat Loaf and Celine did good Versions, BUT they lack the emotions the original had... AND its Jim Steinmans best song by far... The bridges to the refrain.... EPIC

  • Better than Celine, but original owner should be Meatloaf..... Pandora's Box did do a great job none the less. Meat w/ Marion wins my vote, then Pandora's Box, then Celine.... That's my opinion.

  • Where's the picture from? Sorry, just can't get it out of my head. Beautiful song!

  • oh so many songs on Celines album Falling into you were taken from the past!

i like this, first listen. she doesn't take it to the clouds but the performance is more human and fragile

  • Celine Dion is ok, meaning she knows her craft. Heard too much of her though. And this voice sounds more appealing to me than Celine's.

  • Einfach geil <3

  • i like Celine Dion version the most

  • Garbage.

  • @agreg24 said garbage himself.

  • Meat Loaf was supposed to be the original artist, but the song writer said it should be sung by a woman, and court battles and 20 years later, Meat Loaf was finally able to record it as a duet.

  • So many bitches bitch around who's best: Celine or Meat...

...BULLSHITT! THIS is the ORIGINAL!! THIS is BEST!!!

  • When I think of this song I think of meatloaf - but not with marion raven. These two should do this together :) This is the best version thus far, but celine does do it justice.

  • hehe, pandoras box is the virgin run on e/mdma :)

  • no offense to the song, great song, but how does this wind up on an MSI play list?

  • @LordRegenerator .__. my thoughts exactly...almost thought youtube screwed me over....

  • Hey that is NOT Marion Raven. This song is from 1989

  • @Dmkai77 Goodbye 1989....

  • why is this on a mindless self indulgence play list.

  • @the5thchild15 exactly my point? wtf?

  • I lovee the Celine Dion version. Her voice is so amazing! And she used less electric guitar. It annoys me in this version. I love the piano solo from 3:00 it's a shame, Celine didn't used it in her version.

  • @MrMystery999

    So true.

  • hail to glorious comments^^

  • @swordfish4776 all hail!

  • I never heard this version before. I like ML's better but this one is great! I like this much better than Celine Dion. And correct me if I'm wrong but there are some very different lyrics here in parts. This shows the poet that is Jim Steinman.

  • Excellent. Great Production from Jim Steinman...he is The Man.

  • 1.) Celine's verison (her voice is the stronger than pandora's box's lead singer, and marion)

    2.) Pandora's Box

    3.) Meatloaf

  • This is perfection in a power ballad.

  • Celines was the best of the 3.

  • Celine blows.

  • I like Celine's voice better, but I actually like I prefer THIS arraingment better. It's almost exactly the same, except I think this one sounds a little more powerful.

  • The Best version by far, if this would of sold millions Meatloaf would of not even realsed it.....!

The passion and the power of the whole album is incredible.

  • Agree with you, Celine dion version's sound almost too perfect, this version is more emotional just like the meatloaf/marion raven version.

  • Meatloaf has best version.

  • this is the best version of this song ever

  • I prefer Celine's version over Meatloaf's and this. Her voice is just so beautiful.

  • I feel like there is more passion in Meatloaf's version... the way he sings it. that's why it gets me more

  • Meatloaf's version is brilliant, but this version is absolutely phenomenal

  • simply powerful! thanks BeeGeesAndMOre, I love it :-)

  • Hail to Pandora's Box!

Hail to Meat Loaf & Marion Raven & Katharine McPhee too!

    Hail to Celine Dion!

    Hail to the song itself!

  • Are you kidding me? The Meat Loaf & Marion Raven version makes Celine's version sound like a dying cat. Celine is a very talented individual, but this song was made for Meat Loaf. Hail to the King!!!

  • celine rocks it the hardest. she simpy a perfect singer. the others cant touch her. its quite funny.

  • No, this band was the original artists to sing this EVER!! + it's way better than the Celine Dion version, so is the Meat Loaf version!

  • Sounds more like stepping into a washing machine than a time machine

  • I am not rally keen on Rock music but this song is fantastic!

  • Better than Celine Dion's version!

  • Hey man! This is the ORIGINAL song! You may copy a diamond and find it look sparkling, but it's still a COPY!

  • True it is the original... i will give them credit for a good song lyrics-wise...but it still does not sound as good as the meatloaf version

  • @wayofnorth Instances of covers sounding better than originals:

Joe Cocker's cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends"

Jimi Hendrix's covers of "Hey Joe" and "All Along The Watchtower"

...and then, of course, there was Santana's fantastic blend of Fleetwood Mac's "Black Magic Woman" with Gabor Szabo's "Gypsy Queen".

Not every cover is a cheap imitation.

  • @wayofnorth yer but the song was written for Meat Loaf by Steinman, so whilst this was published first, Meat Loaf's version is how it was intended to sound. So, i wouldn't say its the original.

  • The original version, and by far the best...
