I used the omnidirectional pattern yes.

The stand is also from Samson, it came as a pack. The mic was placed above the drumset, slightly left of the center.

i think for this video it was positioned allmost above the hi-hatt. The best position would be in the center above your kit. Above your head where you are sitting. That way you will get the best volume on all the toms & cymbals.

Buy it ! You seriously wont regret it.

I bought it as a pack with a stand, the shockmount and a popfilter. Its just great at recording everything... even drums as you can hear :) Be shure to get the C03U though, and not the C01U. The C03U like mine can record in more different ways, its more versatile.

so what setting are you using in the video? super cardioid or the omnidirectional setting.

If im not mistaking... its the super cardioid setting. The one where he records everything around it. I think that is the best setting because then it records the acoustics of the room.
