I have the lord of the rings box set including the hobbit and although I'm only in my teens I read all four books. My favorite character was Legolas elven prince of Mirkwood, also known as the woodland realm. For the movie Oranldo had eye changing contacts that made his eyes change from blue to ice blue. I also like Aragorn and Gimli and the rest of the fellowship.
In the movies, it seems to be Faramir's fault indeed, because Gollum's good side clearly lost the battle right before he left that place. I think his capture made him feel he had been betrayed by the only person he trusted (Frodo), which made him harden his heart for good and seek vengeance.
In the book though, it doesn't change him that much. He never lies about Sam, who is still present (and harsh) the night before the tunnel. It's actually his fault if Gollum didn't give up his plan.
Who is Celine Diane? I like the song that was used for this video but I don't know much about her. So if someone could please tell me more about her then go ahead please.
I uh never really did like Gollum much because of the way he wanted Frodo dead. I mean he looks like a demon and I recall my mom saying that not me. I still love lord of the rings a lot.
Yeah, I don't like how Gollum was portrayed in the third movie. The way his personality was adapted is awesome in The Two Towers, but I don't understand why they suddenly made him so mean after the incident in Ithilien (with the evil smirks and the sneaky plotting to get rid of Sam). In the book, I never got the feeling that Gollum was cruel, but rather scared and desperate. His failure to repent was meant to be tragic, but the last movie made him totally despicable instead. WHY?!?
His personality(Both of them...), his voice, his body, his GORGEOUS eyes.
Also he IS one of the most pitiful characters in the books I have read. He's very vibrant as well. As I was reading Lord of the Rings he was practically my favorite character among a few others.
In the movies, Andy Serkis did a superb performance.

I think Smeagol would have turned out fine if not for Faramir. He got rid of the alter ego created by the ring until that happened.
