The major problem I see in this video isn't the sniper but the fact that his team is losing and they're cornered. In team deathmatch in this map if you get to this particular spot in the map it's because the other team drove you to it by pushing forward while you didn't. In the end I'm pretty sure he lost the game.

The semi auto sniper rifles in this game are really battle rifles Mid-Long range rifles. The shotguns in this game are way more accurately then they have ever been portrayed in COD. You may not win one to one with a pistol against an assault rifle but I've played for hours today and it certainly isn't undependable.
Actually, what I love to do is to take my ballistic 12x zoom shotgun scope on my R870, and snipe people with explosive fragmentation slugs to snipe people with.

I have no hate for the semis I'm glad i got the sniper from pre odering, i used it till i got my M98B, for some reason I can't snipe with scopes that uses arrows, but with a normal crosshair i do just fine.

hows this for you shall not pass during the beta when i unlocked the PKP we were defending and when the first set of bombs went off we had to move back well (i was one of the first during the beta now seems like everyone does this) i set up my bipod around mid way down the tunnel and just stayed there as they all started to go thru (i'd just recently join when the bombs went off) i went 36/0 and we won the game. Cod nubs call it camping BF3 players call it stratigic placement.
i personally dont think ANY semi auto sniper is a real sniper. a SNIPER rifle should NEVER be able to second as a pistol in close range. its retarded, like trying to kill a sniper with a pistol from long distance... its just not what its made for... i personally only use bolt-action rifles (LONG DISTANCE), and save close range for my G18

@SkullTraill i never said snipers dont have the right to choose semiauto rifles, i just strongly believe that they require much less skill than a bolt action. semiauto rifles allow quick follow up shots, making sniping so much less of a challenge, and someone with less acuracy could still get a kill, simply from spamming bullets in that direction. a bolt action requires the first shot be perfect, or risk being spotted and killed, or letting the target get away
@DRIV3R24 I do better with bolt action rifles, I normally suck ass with semi's. I can absolutely dominate a position with the L96 but if I use something like SKS 9 times out of 10 someone will kill me.

@DRIV3R24 The Semi-autos are for aggressive Recons that prefer the accuracy of a rifle over the cqc all kit weapons. They are for medium range recons that act as a spawn pont and use motion detection and spotting to help their team... you know the things the recons SHOULD be doing. Notice the class is called RECON and not SNIPER. Snipers CAN be useful, but most players who attempt it suck and just waste space joining squads. If you want to really test your opinion, try your bolt actions up close

@DRIV3R24 A secondary is your last resort. It is as simple as that. If I fail my shot, I quickly switch and hope, because the odds of me winning a gunfight with a pistol in battlefield 3 is very unlikely, so I best roll the dice with the sniper lol :)

I did something similar on a game of rush where I went 42 - 6. most people would have said I was camping, but the problem is if I would have moved A) we would have lost the m-coms and B) I would have died. p.s. I didn't do it with a sniper I did it exclusively with an M249 and a MP443

i personally dont think ANY semi auto sniper is a real sniper. a SNIPER rifle should NEVER be able to second as a pistol in close range. its retarded, like trying to kill a sniper with a pistol from long distance... its just not what its made for... i personally only use bolt-action rifles (LONG DISTANCE), and save close range for my G18

@DRIV3R24 technically the semi-automatic "sniper" rifles in the game are actually marksmen rifles and fulfill a role for marksmen soldiers, something which is slightly different than a sniper, so the problem isn't really the guns, but how people use them and what they're using them for...

Sniper rifles were made to shoot long distances, whether it is semi auto or bolt action, or whether it is used for close range or long range does not affect the fact that it is still a sniper rile. Although it is silly to kill people at close range with a sniper rifle, it's still just a game and the objective is to have fun.

@SkullTraill i never said snipers dont have the right to choose semiauto rifles, i just strongly believe that they require much less skill than a bolt action. semiauto rifles allow quick follow up shots, making sniping so much less of a challenge, and someone with less acuracy could still get a kill, simply from spamming bullets in that direction. a bolt action requires the first shot be perfect, or risk being spotted and killed, or letting the target get away

@DRIV3R24 I do better with bolt action rifles, I normally suck ass with semi's. I can absolutely dominate a position with the L96 but if I use something like SKS 9 times out of 10 someone will kill me.

@DRIV3R24 The Semi-autos are for aggressive Recons that prefer the accuracy of a rifle over the cqc all kit weapons. They are for medium range recons that act as a spawn pont and use motion detection and spotting to help their team... you know the things the recons SHOULD be doing. Notice the class is called RECON and not SNIPER. Snipers CAN be useful, but most players who attempt it suck and just waste space joining squads. If you want to really test your opinion, try your bolt actions up close

@M1neCraftProduction it simply takes much less skill to spam 5 bullets at the enemy, getting 20% damage per bullet, than it takes for a single headshot with a bolt action. if you have a semi auto, and can make the headshot the first time, thats fine with me, i applaud you. but noobs choose them because they can get kills by firing instant follow-ups. no skill.

@DRIV3R24 A secondary is your last resort. It is as simple as that. If I fail my shot, I quickly switch and hope, because the odds of me winning a gunfight with a pistol in battlefield 3 is very unlikely, so I best roll the dice with the sniper lol :)

Oh by the way there isn't a weapon called the Barrett 50.cal, Barrett is its manufacturer and the 50.cal is the ammunition it fires. Maybe some one has been playing abit to much CoD?

I did something similar on a game of rush where I went 42 - 6. most people would have said I was camping, but the problem is if I would have moved A) we would have lost the m-coms and B) I would have died. p.s. I didn't do it with a sniper I did it exclusively with an M249 and a MP443
