I read your comment about the merengue pattern and check out yours. very nice, i started to practice it right after. HaHa! thanks for the mini-lesson.
Well here I'm doing a bunch of patterns! some are known by diff names So I don't dare calling names! hehehe BUT the Merengue patterns are at 1:54 sounds like houre riding! then I do the most comment at 2:11
thanks for the detailed explanation,i will practice more of your patterns when i have time. Thanks so much for sharing. I love the sound of those congas. I really need to get some FIBERSKINs in my plate.
man can you let me know which size are this congas and fiberglass or wood and so cuz i want to buy some congas but i want them to sound just like this ones
Hey I'm glad that this video has giving you a good vibe! Well this are LP Classic Congas! Natural wood finish Quinto and Conga size! I'm using Remo fiberSkin 3 on them!
Also my videos are to help people. I'm not showing off so people can see me and say wow this uuuh that!
This is a very cool video that showcase LP congas and AKG mics.
Boy I thought that people would see the info at the start of the video :( I will put my voice from now on! and explain things next time! Sorry guys...!
Getting the sound is not that easy but you can do it! These congas are tuned in 5th or in harmony! I also try to bring the natural tone of the wood barrel. Depending of the size, you can make the conga sing when you find its voice or tone, you know!!?
Dude - those sound soooo sweet!! I just bought LP Performers and was thinking about switching the heads. Do the Fiberskins make that much of a diff? I can't get this hi pitch slaps like you can - could be my bad technique though. Thoughts?
Are they both the KSM 109's? Is that all the mics u use to record congas? Because they sound great with just those 2 mics!. Do you recommend close miking. Last thing when your recording any instrument at what level do you recommend it hits in cubase sx input meters. Thanks!!
I have done that but its not as good as the KSM 109 $179.each for drum overheads.. They also pick up the Hi-Hats well so you don't need to mic the hi-hats... so go for the ksm109 for OH!!
DUDE! I wish I knew! I have no clue It just came out on the spot! I have heard this before and that was me rendision of that rhythm. En realidad no se el nombre correcto del primer ritmo. Ya le preguntare a mis amigos..
Ya recibi la camara denuevo y voy a poner mas videos pronto... El video en si es para muestra de grabacion! No soy buy bueno pero megusta la percusion..
Hey, Salvador...I've played Remo bongos with the FiberSkyns and I love them! You don't have to bang hell out of them to get a great sound, like you say. I'm definitely switching to FiberSkyns when I replace the skins on my CP congas!
yea those congas sound pretty good i like the sound lp drums have. good ryhthms be sure n check out some of my videoz in my channel, i got a few reggae jamz..
Nice Salvador! Are you happy with the sound then? It is kind of hard to tell from here. All the tones sound nice and clear but I suppose there is something different about the sound. You recommend these skins then?
What I like about these drum heads? Well, the tone is so focused and they are very responsive! You don't have to play hard to make them sing! I love real skins but when its very humid!, Real skins are a pain in the butt! These FiberSkins are always in tune!! no matter the weather! They are great!
Niceeeeee! tikiriquitu, tikiriquita haaa haa haaa.

Fantastic skins.. They don't detune, nice rich brite' sound, tone, etc..
If you practice you will get it..
Tuning is key also..
I don't have to hit too hard to get a nice tone from these skins..
girotube 3 years ago
Looks like your heads have LP stickers in the middle????
jdl1881 3 years ago
YES they are LP! made by REMO.. I also have the others made by Evans but these are superb.

Hi Triton2002
hehe no! not ksm109 On this video you can see that I'm using 2 AKG c1000s.
The mics are about 12' away from each head. For extreme close micing use dynamic mics! I have recorded with just one condencer
mic @ 3' away as overheads on these congas. AT2020, AT4030, KSM 32 etc
I better start doing my videos already!
Ya pondre mas videos
girotube 4 years ago
Gracias girotube. Si necesitas mas videos para poder ensenar a estos burros como yo. jajaja. Dios te bendiga!

Damn you are gettin funky on those. Those mics are pretty bombass!

would these AKG C100-S mics do good for
overhead mics on drums?
MarvinMoshaka 4 years ago
I have done that but its not as good as the KSM 109 $179.each for drum overheads.. They also pick up the Hi-Hats well so you don't need to mic the hi-hats... so go for the ksm109 for OH!!
