  • This is an AMAZING school!! I wish I could go there!

  • @jkingsbeer il be going there next year, it should be awsome

  • I was there for (03-05). I have to say I enjoyed my time there. Teachers were great. Economics teacher ( Mr Godfrey ) thank you for your support while I was there. I would suggest subjects Photography & Graphics Design, absolutely loved it. However I must agree with few others, the Career Counsellor was totally useless. I wasn't much of a high grade student, but teachers were all very supportive. It was hard in a way because of the high expectations. Anyway, Thanks to all my teachers.

  • nprajay - come and visit us, ring 09 307 4477 and you can have a tour with a student, meet the current students and speak with them

  • @nprajay- i was there '08-'09. i would suggest acg parnell college for various reasons.

  • man i agree, the careers counselor was like a total noob, but the school was the best ive ever gone to, better than all those other crappy private schools like st kents. and the reason why they neglect you a bit is cause they treat you like a uni student, rather than your average dumbass attending high school.

  • @LaidBakGamer We have a new trained Careers Counsellor for the past 3 or 4 years who works very hard to help students

  • VeganBFingMum you need to come and pay us a visit now. A lot has changed in 8 years! New Principal, new DP, new AP, new curriculum, new Careers Counsellor!

  • omg, the biggest piece of up talk I have seen of this school. As a former student, who graduated from SCONZ in 2002, a lot of the things they talk about were not available.

It was a great school, and I enjoyed my time there, but I feel they neglected students a little bit when I was studying there. Plus the Careers Advisor was useless, and never held sessions to tell us about the enrolment process at universities and how to deal with Studylink.

  • Wow.. It looks fantastic, and it was already great when I was there (2001-03).

    Very cool. Slick video too.

  • Man, that place hasn't got many students, does it? What happened to a science curriculum?

  • 460 students, of these probably half or more take at least one science, Bio and/or Chem and /or Physics. Well equipped labs, lots of practical work, very high standards in all the Sciences, a high percentage of students go on to Uni to take medicine, dentistry, engineering or pure sciences, and are very successful.

  • Absolutely.

  • yes we do :)

  • can any current students at Senior College tell me a bit about the school?

  • yeah~ i go to senior and im yr 12 this year. great school, everyone's really really nice to each other~ and most teachers are quite funny~ im going to oxford without doing 7th form so yeah... academically...yeah... yeah... so yeah.... its just an awesome school!!!!

  • haha i got totally sucked in by the ad on friday but i've actually had a big think about it and i really want to move here now! i'm so sick of the learning environment at my school! so i'll be coming either next term or next year. it sounds like an awesome environment, omg oxford? what are you studying?

  • im going to study eco+management and psychology (double major) in oxford. currently doing 6 subjects (A2 eco, accounting, maths with stats, thinking skills, AS eng literature, psychology). i am doing a lot more subjects than any other students at the school tho... i skipped a year for some subjects... but yeah, do come! it'd be great for you~

  • that's funny, i'm also interesting in eco and psych! i'm planning to study clinical psych at uni. maybe melbourne or auckland. that's really impressive, 6 subjects?? i thought 5 was the limit o.O do you have any non-contact periods left? i'm planning to take AS english, AS bio, AS music, AS psych and A2 Eco next year. i am so looking forward to it. hope i get past the interview haha.

  • 5 is the limit... but think skills is only once a week at A2 level. you're year 13 next year? i have 4 free periods a week still~ not that hard~ interview shouldn't be that hard... mine was 20min and i did ncea... so if you're doing cambridge it's gonna be quite easy i think~

  • ohh i see, maybe i'll take thinking skills too then it seems really interesting! nope, i'm in year 11 this year, accelerated in maths and eco (but i'm soo not doing A2 maths! gahh!) cool, so is this your first year at Senior or did you move during your year 11? i'm going to go check it out with my parents on the next open day :)

  • second year for me~ come to our school ball~ that's gonna give you a taste of it~ lol~

  • lol i haven't even enrolled yet! when is your ball?

  • august~ but you gotta find someone to take you if you dont go to the school~

  • cool. well i'm so looking forward to coming to visit on open day anyways :D

  • omg...i so wanna go here now!!!

  • aha cheesy

  • haha cool
