Windows 7 Boot & Login Speed

Any tips on decreasing boot time? My laptop takes around a minute to get to the login screen (minus the 3 seconds or so it takes to POST). It's about 4-5 years old, Core 2 Duo T7200, 2GB RAM, 7200RPM hard drive, brand new install, defragged hard drive. Does your lappy have an SSD?

Yes there is a way ! Get rid of Windows 7 and go back with Windows XP. Windows 7 Sux big time ! I hate Windows Vista as well.

my laptop is inspiron 1564 boots up in same time i have re5 , dmc4 and assassin's creed 2 .... programms : dell dock , kaspersky antivirus , tuneup utilities 2010 and all nedded programms needed for the windows to work and a fancy theme at the start up , specs are 4gb of ram , windows 7 home premium x64 , core i5 2.27GHz (turbo boost 2.60 GHz)

Actually, it is normal startup because if the computer was on hibernate, it would have displayed Resuming Windows instead of Starting Windows.

@fabbrinitech actually with my core unlocked phenom x6 i can reach bios to logon in about 3 seconds.. however unless you take out important boot screens there's no way of getting there in under 5 seconds. (not impossible, just impracticable)

you are noob, you can increase speed by going WIN+R /MSCONFIG/BOOT OPTIONS/SET 2 Cores and disable gui, disable logon screen too... i wont even post the vid cuz with only 2 core processor in 22 seconds i am already booted, running utorrents and internet browser...
