Apparently they're not as good on the old ones. The new ones are made in Korea and the pickup is a bit crappy. Try and find an sb-1000, hard as fuck to find much so much nicer.

This Body is like the ESP LTD F5 E bass i have had my eyes on for a little while, i want it with some sweet natural woods, and this body is killer! But, on almost every showcase a bass video the tone and sound on all the basses suck balls! I understand a bit of funk, but come on! Anyway, someone tell me what the bass i stated above is like, no one reviews it directly. :P

I've got the F5E. I love the thing. It's got a nice crunchy tone especilly on the highs. The lows can get a tad muddy at times, but its fixable if you take a little bass out of the sound. If you can get it, go for it. And if you happen to run it through an Ampeg, it's even better. Personally, I think ESPs basses are all pretty good, at least the three I own are. hope that helps.

its really not that big of a deal, if you have 2000 bucks to blow dont spend it on a bass that goes BOOM BOOM BOOM get an MTD 435 or 535 on ebay, youd be getting 10 times the bass youd be getting with the tom araya. besides atleast $999.99 of that is going towards tom so the bass is really only worth like $1000 maximum. seriously MTD and ernie ball basses are going to sound 100% better than this one.

Lots of venues don't make the bass loud enough and fuck up the sound bigtime. If a bass doesn't get turned up, then you can't hear the difference between one bass and the next. If you're new to the music scene and the venues around the area suck ass at hooking up your bass gear, might as well play through a 50 dollar rogue bass or something.

Good bass. The EMG pickups that are in it are decent. It's a bit overpriced though. One thing I hate about it is the lower horn is sharp and it's not that comfortable to play while sitting.

He played his bass as a guitar while singing... most metal bassists arent flashy at all, really. So he plays just as good as most every bassist in his genre and sings at the same time. You have to give him at least an 'above-average' rating for that
