I think it's a mere accident, one of those hat frequently happen during sparring matches. There are worse accidents that happen, some have been paralysed, some have died...it's the risk in every match

I'm Taiwanese and I've been practicing Taekwondo in Taiwan for years. One thing that I've realized a long time ago, Taekwondo has ALWAYS been controversial. I can totally understand Tseng's loss from this incident. However, for those who have experiences in Taekwondo competitions, you've probably heard of the word "blind spot" (裁判的盲點). Though I have to say I'm rather disappointed in the final decision, and of course I would protest for Taiwan (but via the appropriate process). Just my opinion.

But the korean contestant aimed for the throat and the korean judge instead of penalizing the Korean contestant gave him a win, which is unfair. This is a competition, which is about fairness and the spirit of sport. It is not your kind of martial art that aims to kill each other and fight till the end thing.
