In defense of the kid, the principal is an ass, but if the kid is riding on school property especially during the school day it's a liability issue for the school if he gets hurt. The principle had every right to take the board, and to get things straight, he didnt steal it, he confiscated it because it is not allowed on school property. If the kid has been in trouble on several occasions for the same thing, they had to do something about it. This principle did the right thing. In defense of the kid, the principal is an ass, but if the kid is riding on school property especially during the school day it's a liability issue for the school if he gets hurt. Also school's have different rules that apply to there property, aka If your 18 years old, you have the right to own a firearm but you can't bring it on to school property, therefore the principal had the right to confiscate the kids skateboard. But he didn't have the right to destroy it, which would be a criminal act.
