Casals continued to play a Bach suite every day of his life until his death age 96... He had played the Bach suites every day for 83 years. Is that 'into it' enough for you? Were he alive today I am sure he would have benefited a great deal from your advice on performing the suites, had he found your insightful comment.

I would think that since during his career he was know as Pablo Casals, people addressed him depending on the region. I would assume that when in Europe he would probably be known as PAU (as many of concerts of orchestras where called). But when in Puerto Rico for example, I am sure he was called Pablo. Growing up in Puerto Rico when I studied classical guitar I always knew him as Pablo Casals.
